No one was saying that McGrady was better than Kobe or would be considered better than him at the end of his career, this is not true. T-Mac was a bad boy, 6'8 with long arm and mad skills but it's not Hill or Roy we are talking about when it comes to injuries. T-Mac had 10 healthy years including his prime but he just never has that will and was a terrible leader.

People quickly forget this type of LeBron. He's been like this ever since, and he was until he joined LAL. People indeed had strong recency bias and quick to discredit how great players were, esp LeBron. I think we all just need to accept that father time is unbeatable. The narrative that LeBron is still in his 'prime' at Year 17 is bs. We all should acknowledge that he's declining (although very slowly) so that we would not be frustrated to him in his last years. Tho I am an AD fan, everyone unbiased NBA fan will agree that it's AD who lead LBJ's last championship.

Came in the league as an 18 year old fresh out of high school playing better than 90% of the rest of the nba in 2004. Referred to as a guy who was pass first, extremely athletic, a Swiss army knife who they say couldn't shoot and wasn't a scorer. Was drafted to a team who never was supposed to win. He was the chosen one to suffer from greatness as an all time great who will spend most of his campaign and reign in the most cursed sports city of all time. While Jordan was losing in the first round at 22, while Kobe was 22 being sidekick to 3 time finals mvp Shaq to win 3 titles...22 year old LeBron was leading the worst roster in history to the finals without a sidekick against a legendary big 3. People said he didn't have a killer instinct but without a killer instinct he did what players with that killer instinct did as well if not better than they did and was able to feed his brothers first by facilitating. He gets flack for involving his teammates in the game. As the planter gatherer waterer and hunter he was able to bring home an all you can eat buffet 3 times as the leader of his pack and bring home a feast 6 more times between Cleveland and Miami. Playing the so called wrong way while being labeled the best all around player of all time, he proved he's the goat but needs 13 more points to be 4th in all time scoring and is 10th in assists as the only non pg to make that elite list of assisters and the only player to be top 10 in both. Right now he's growing impatient as do all greats who are hungry to win more rings, he expects the best of his teammates and of himself.

We're not going to act like LeBron didn't have 20 of Cleveland's 50 points at one point in the game, as an 18 year old rookie, lol. Cleveland was 🗑️. He straight carried their asses as a rookie. McGrady was incredible. He had range, driving, and post up ability. It's a shame he wasn't as dominant towards the end of his career and never won a championship. If he had, he would have been in a few conversations.

People in the future will look at Tracy McGrady's career stats and won't think much, but at his peak, he was an unstoppable scorer who could do it all. Easily had a Hall of Fame peak.

@SLICENSLASH8 жыл бұрын
The more I watch old vids of TMac competing against other superstars the more it makes me think his career was squandered on bad teams. I think he's partially to blame for that though. He leaves Vince Carter & the Raptors. A really good team on the rise. No reason they couldn't become great. I guess he didnt wanna play second fiddle, but goes to Orlando. Its understandable when you think Grant Hill was gonna be your running mate, but turns out Grant's injury never allowed him to play with him for any extended time. So the Magic never really had a chance. Then he goes to Houston after Orlando. That move was unexplainable. Out of all the options of teams to go to at the time. You would think he wouldve learned how fragile a pro career could be after seeing Grant's problems, and look to join a winner; but he didn't. That's why I dont blame guys like Lebron or Durant for making superteams. Pro careers are fragile, fickle things. If you dont jump at the chance to win and make the hard choices you can go forgotten regardless of how good you were.
