I'd prefer the Rc-l because I appreciate the strong bass. More bass gives you more energy when "baby-making" hehe! Great vid, keep them coming!

Always listen to speakers closely when you buy. I bought a pair of older Polk T15 at a pawn shop, didn't know tweeters were blown until I got home and hooked them up to my Onkyo TX906 Oddly they hooked them up to onkyo TX81 mounted temporarily disassembled car mylar dome tweeters behind the faceplates.

Lots of variables here; computer, microphone used, headphones used, etc. Then there is youtube "compression"! To me, it is hard to hear a radical difference in the bass. What is mostly noticeable are the cleaner MIDS on the Ergo, and maybe there is a little fuller bass, but it's hard to tell. Sheer cabinet volume and greater driver surface in the Ergos should make a difference in bass, though! I'm using a LENOVO laptop, a set of Beyerdynamic DT-990 headphones and the headphone amp in an old vintage receiver. Using the DT-990s I can hear extra noise, slight room distortion from your microphone so that's an issue. There is also a bit of an echo (the DT-990s are an open air headphone and probably exaggerate any sound bouncing off the walls, floor, etc. and returning to the microphone!)

that's a very good headphone you have, my is just a simple thing,i love it because it's distortion free(no interference from fm noise) of the kleer connection but the sound is far from headphones you can buy over 200 euro

the karat sounded louder but muffled and the ergo were lower in volume but brighter and a little bit clearer. my choice is the ergo.

Canton speakers are bright so more bass make sense thus ergo series is more linear. Check Quadral Phonologue Gold series with ribbon. Made in germany.

All speakers will have more bass if they are in a corner. But, depending on the speaker, sometimes that doesn't matter. My Klipsch CF-3's have plenty of bass w/o being in corners.

I have Canton Ergo RCL in front of the room and smaller Canton Ergo F on the back walls. . Connected in BI-AMP at 2 Technics SE-A1000M2 Sound is amazing! Not boomy very clear middle tone and detailed treble . I had before Monitor Audio BX6 and I was happy to sell them -Boomy bass, echo in the room and especially low treble. I ll never buy British speakers again. Canton is Best ! You can see them in my videos.

У Карата середина провалена, по этому кажется что высоких и низких частот больше. По крайней мере такое ощущение создаётся после просмотра видео. Эрго по ачх как то ровнее звучит. Но думаю эквалайзером это можно подправить и на карате.

I had Canton RC-L for about 12 years and I loved them. But you need a Amp that can deliver real power to make them sound realy good. About 150w x 2 They need to get away from walls and a big room. But i used this hardware for the last 6 month with them. Amp: Musical Fidelity M6si. DAC :Aune s16 Very good cables and stuff. And the sound was totally Amazing. But they have now retired after many happy years.

you placed the Karat Woofers just next to the big RC-L one, like only 4-5 cm away... no place for them for breathing, probably that's why they sound weird and "muffled" during your audio test.

Ergo sounds to me more balanced, metallic Canton tends to be brighter.

Something is clear to me..both of them are thousand miles distant from a flat sound..they have their own sonic signature and this is clear to all of us including yourself

They are both indeed far from neutral sounding. Not sure how much money a neutral sounding speaker would cost when you also want a decent bass in it

They are not same class and Ergo have that Canton old sound tuning. Caratis more linear in upper region.

Canton said that this series of RC speakers cannot be operated without using the proprietary black box, equalization unit Canton Control Unit and only in RC-A this unit is not needed. it's probably built in there

Het klinkt net als het eruit ziet , rommelig en niet goed aangestuurd , als audio liefhebber moet je weten dat je op a en b niet kan testen laat staan op FM .. verder prima speakers maar amp en componenten kunnen wel een upgrade gebruiken en je upgrade niet met een receiver of amp uit 1990 .. heb je wel maar eenmaal in huis doe je hem nier weg want kost een godvermogen en werk je met voor en eind ... mijn advies verdiep je eens in het streaming gebeuren met losless bestand flac etc ... of test iniedergeval op vinyl als je oldskool wilt doen !

i will never place carpet in my living room, carpet need to change after a few years, , tiles ore wood have a much longer lifetime, also more easy to clean, all those little animals go sit, breed and live in a carpet. i only use carpet in the bedroom

for me not interesting. I enjoy the speakers how they sound now. I don't want to change my room for better acoustic. When youtube was paying me more ore nobody used adblock I would add a carpet to let the video's sound better. But why would I make changes now, everybody use adblock so my income from youtube is almost zero. not you but most people like demanding things from the uploader and in the between time they use adblock.

the thing is, that youtube pay today only 30% of what they paid 2 years ago for every click, so why should I keep uploading videos when also more and more people use adblock and my youtube revenue doesn't have progression? My channel is a serious channel but the subject is far from popular. Although I think I do a good job, I don't see that back in my pay out, So the hobby stays but I doubt if I have to continuing the video upload. 1 video cost me a lot of work, I don't see that back in my revenue. TO make my video's better won't give me a higher revenue, so why should I even try. I will start another channel with a popular subject. Vintage stereo is far from popular.

I know it was a suggestion, but lately I heard many suggestions. A few weeks ago I Talked about mr trump in a video.... I lost 22 subscribers that day because they don't like me talking politics. They are all consumers who are all taking but non of them is giving, and once the giver is talking politics he is a bad person..... You understand where I am going. For what am I still uploading when the takers are only demanding but I am not making a penny more than last year. KZbin lost many small uploaders like me this last year. This summer i will make 100 new movies but not about vintage stereo...... If my new channel is a success I will stop making videos for this channel. 30% of my viewers use adblock!!! So they like to watch my video's but doesn't care if the uploader make a extra penny ore not..... So is it the fault of adblock? No it's completly the fault of youtube because youtube did nothing to stop adblock when that is so easy. In the same time they also pay us less and less every year for every click. My second year was a very good year, only a few video's not many viewers like today but I was happy with the revenue, Today I am not happy at all.

i understand you and this is not for you. You only suggest and you where wright with your suggestion. I have often real complains about the image, the sound, that i talk too much, that i have to go deeper in the technical stuff, etc.etc. Often these complaints are well founded but people don't understand that I just can't easy buy a expensive cam when youtube income don't even cover the costs of this cam. And yes adbock is killing small uploaders and i don't understand why youtube didn't take measures against this. My next channel will be children movies, not my hobby but those movies have very large popularity. If people don't want to see ads then why not youtube give a black image the first 30 seconds when adblock is running. I also use adblock but it's not my fault that youtube don't take any action, youtube's handling looks if they welcome adblock and invite people to use adblock by doing nothing against it. 1 mvideo cost me without the scoring 3 hours time and i don't calculate the upload time to youtube... when this movie make not even 2 $ a year than that is just a big joke.

Allways these tests make me laugh :)) A test where I clearly can decide who's better. Filmed with the telephone. That have condenser microphone. The audio is compressed , and than compressed again when hosted on youtube. And than people are listening this on laptop speakers and decide : THOSE ARE BETTER!! :))

the karat have not more bass as the rc-l but it sound more bass because the mids from the ergo is indeed much stronger. Maybe the mids from the ergo is not perfect, true but they sound in overall better as the karat. The perfect speaker will second hand not cost under 1000 euro.

Yes...the inverted stuff....we listen more bass when treble and mids are muffled..it is correct, it depends on the point of view..it is correct to say lack of mids and treble or excess of bass because both sittuation results in the same listening impression
