Cute cover! Good techniques. Couple of FWIW.... Be sure to wash the fabric before using it for a cover. Especially red, to remove excess dye. Knowing Murphy's Law, very well, the first thing I'd iron would be expensive white fabric over those red stripes. On another note, I use a cord-lock on the string (butcher's twine) to make it easier to remove the cover. Hold's pretty well. Much easier than trying to untie a "brute force" knot. To get the original cover to lie flatter for pattern making, iron it. Gradually work out the gathers around the curves. It was originally flat, and should go back to the same state. The reason I mentioned it, is because I would have put that cover over the towel (great idea, BTW). Then put the batting and new cover on top of that. Then, when removing the new cover, the old cover and toweling are not disturbed. Makes it simpler to put the batting & new cover back on after washing the new cover. Just some thoughts, for whatever they're worth. Thank you for sharing. Enjoyed watching.
