I'm still confused on why the answer is 1/3 instead of 3/1 for question 6
@vinteachesmath Жыл бұрын
That would be correct if you were going from RST to ABC but RST is the image. That means we are starting with ABC and going to RST. I hope that helps! Edit: typo fixed!

for question 19 how did it turn from 12y to y-6?

Bro my teacher is so bad at her job, she rushes through everything and does one lesson in a day, never spending more than one class day (40 min) on the subject. That's probably why I got a 49 in June. I took the test only knowing how to do a little SohCahToa,proofs and triangle stuff. I hope I pass the august one. I heard the august regents in New York are harder. Is that true?
@vinteachesmath Жыл бұрын
I am sorry to hear that it was difficult to learn the content throughout the school year. This is hard to do as a high school student, but you can practice independently of what your teacher assigns. Think about what parts of math are most challenging, then practice until you are fluent. If you practice an average of 30 minutes a day, you will be a superbeast in math.

Thank you 😊 Also is august regents harder than June?
@usermailman Жыл бұрын
no, its easier along with the january one, they have to make it easier bc june u already know most geometry, while during august/ January, you arent accustomed or arent int he school mindset. @@deena_annmarie

Why are the other answer choices for number 16 wrong
@vinteachesmath Жыл бұрын
Any distance measurement such as the length of the sides of the triangle, the perimeter, will maintain the ratio based on the scale factor because distance is a 1D measurement. So the legs and perimeter between both triangles are in the ratio of 1:4; that's why choices 1 and 4 are incorrect. Volume is a 3D measurement so the scale factor would be cubed, so the ratio of the volumes would be (1/4)^3 = 1/64; that's why choice 3 is wrong.

For question 9. I was in review class today and the teacher got #2 for the answer. I don't know who is wrong or not. Because for some questions my teachers get answers different from yours?

10:12 i donst understand why x^2 couldnt you do 197 x 2?
@vinteachesmath2 жыл бұрын
Since the base of the figure was a square, each side of the base is the same distance. Also, the base is a square, so each side can be labeled with an x. The area of the square is (x)(x) = x^2. Since the side length is 197, we have to do B = (197)(197) = 197^2. 197x2 is different, that would just be doubling the side length.
