Hey I appreciate the guide through the questions and your work has really helped me and others find our mistakes and correct them. Thank you!

I call those the beartrap! Watch out for them, they are scattered throughout the test! A lot of your peers are scared right now; the best you can do is prepare, show up, and put your best math down on the paper! Good luck tomorrow!

4:18 thank you so much for pointing out this bear trap because I accidentally put the slant height but that didn’t seem right when I multiplied everything, so I looked back at any referencing videos and was able to figure out the correct answer on my practice regents because I got this for my homework assignment in order to prepare for the regents in class.

There are bear traps everywhere in math! Which topics are most challenging in geometry?

@@vinteachesmath the most difficult unit for me was probably similarity and/or proofs. But I loved trigonometry this year; SOH CAH TOA for the win!

I'm having trouble with most things, but one of them is proving if something is a parallelogram or, more generally, doing proofs where you have a statement and reasoning

thank you so much Mr. Vin, you've been helping me a lot to prepare for the exam in June! I have a quick question if you can answer, what should I do to memorize what I need to do for every question, it gets very tricky to remember how to solve every question, and how to use the calculator for it if that makes sense. Should I watch more videos and practice all the regent exams?
@vinteachesmath5 ай бұрын
I am happy to help! The key to being able to answer any variation of a question is understanding the concept. As you go through more practice questions, do a deep dive and look for connections between the other Regents exams. Try to answer: Are there questions that show up frequently? For any topic, what is the most challenging question you have encountered so far? Is there an easier way to do this question? Why are the other MC responses wrong? I will do a live stream the day before the Geometry regents

Hi Mr. V,for Q35 since specifically it’s not asking us to distinguish the rhombus from another shape, couldn’t it be proved that it can also be a square since all the sides of a square are congruent like wouldn’t we have to prove diagonals of a rhombus not congruent to distinguish the two shapes?
@vinteachesmath5 ай бұрын
Showing the 4 sides of a quadrilateral are congruent proves that the quadrilateral is a rhombus. To prove that a quadrilateral is a square, you can prove that you have a rhombus with a right angle, or you can prove that you have a rhombus with congruent diagonals. For this question, we cannot establish that AA'C'C is a square because the angles are not right.

While I love the work you do the way you do it may be confusing. For example in question 35 you could’ve just used tje graph paper that is given to you, plot your triangle, then figured out the sides by forming 3 other right triangles with the sides of triangle abc as their hypotenuse then used Pythagorean theorem. It’s a lot less work, more efficient, and you get the same results. I do appreciate your work though❤❤

For question 31, I made a perpendicular line which intersects point c. Then I drew another perpendicular line on the perpendicular line that I've made so that it goes through point C. And if 2 lines are perpendicular to the same line, then they are parallel. Is this right?
@vinteachesmath Жыл бұрын
That works! There are many ways to construct parallel lines, I only showed the "copy an angle" method because that is the most popular method. Was the two perpendicular lines your own creativity or did your teacher show you that?!

Hey on question 34 I sware I could have gotten it right because for my volume I got 3.14… and then I multiples that by 2/3 and then that by 10 and got 20.94 in which I rounded to 21. If you see my mistake please help me

question 30 was really confusing because i was never introduced to completing the square in my geometry class
@vinteachesmath2 жыл бұрын
That is a tricky topic. For future regents, I would look up all the topics that will be on the test and go through each topic one by one. If your teacher ran out of time, learn those topics on youtube. It will seem tricky but it is definitely a good experience to self teach yourself a few math topics.

Ummm I don’t know if u will be answering this but for the first question for trigonometry why we have to put 183.27 DIVIDE by sin 86.03.Cause I do 183.27sin( 86.03
