There's so much stuff I want on discogs. I never thought about checking other listings to lower the shipping. Pepper Tree!

I just bought that Keith Jarrett & Gary Burton on your shelf in the background at a record show last month. ✌

Decent album. A rare, non-ECM album to feature Gary & Keith.

@@Speekers_corner Yes, I noticed that as well. I have a lot of Keith Jarrett stuff! Love it.

Nice pickups Jeff, I have that Pepper Tree myself, found it for very cheap a few years ago in a little vintage boutique kind of shop that also had a few records. Must dig that out to listen again - from memory it was pretty good but condition was a touch on the rough side with a skip or two hence the low price (I probably paid a dollar or two). I haven't bought off eBay in many years, I'm no fan of the bidding process either. I've only done two purchases on Discogs so far but its something I will likely do more of in the future. Cheers, all the best!

It took Bobby to get you to buy off discogs ! That guy is powerful ! I picked up a first press of Elvis' first album in VG for a dollar over the summer , I thought of you and George , I was stoked. Take care , great to see ya.

I spend a lot of years living in Buffalo (1985 to 1999 or thereabouts) and therefore listening to Canadian bands via CFNY in Toronto. Sooooo much great music has come out of Canada and is the country is criminally underrated in the music world. As I go back and try to grab certain records by Canadian bands, I always try to grab the Canadian pressing. Cheers! Tom

Good call, Jeff. Ya, I never really focused on the potential for surprises with a live opening. Worst case scenario, I could always pretend I ordered that Zamphir album that was shipped in error. You guys wouldn't know... :) Take care.

Hi Jeff - nice pickups there! I’m with you by the way on bidding when using eBay - I prefer to avoid it and just use Buy It Now. It’s been many years since I’ve done any bidding actually.

Thanks! I don't know your name. Have you revealed your name? Can I call you Vivian (short for VVN - VinylVictimsNiece?). Sorry I missed your comment. I try to reply to all my comments, but this one slipped through. Elvis is my #1 collected artist. I have more of his material in my collection than any other. Thanks again for stopping by. Take care. -Jeff

Actually, my real name is Amberle :) I really like Elvis; what else do you have by him!??!
@Speekers_corner7 жыл бұрын
VinylVictimsNiece86 Amberle - beautiful name. Elvis, ya... that's a bit of an addiction. I have every official release from while he was living, 1956 to 1977. Plenty of other goodies, too. Closing in on 200 records.
@Ambie867 жыл бұрын
Thank you :) My parents claim they found it from a book in which "Amberle" was the heroine, but they have never been able to show proof of said book….so I always give them a hard time about it because it's such an unusual name. Wow, 200 records is a LOT. And I was impressed that I have over 40! :) Hope to see more videos soon.

Hello Brother J., nice to see you and very nice pressing of Blue Hawaii.....like the lineup on moon germs.....boy oh boy I bet Pepper tree wishes they would get royalties every time there name has been mentioned these past weeks lol.....😎👌🏻good stuff and happy spins- Lis
@Speekers_corner7 жыл бұрын
Hey Lis! Yes, Blue Hawaii is in nice shape. I take back my comment as it might actually be a first pressing. I still need to check the credit differences on the label to confirm. I can't say I was overly familiar with Joe Farrell, but when Hancock, Clarke and DeJohnette guest on your (CTI) album, that's a winning recipe. I actually came across the ebay post for it a couple months ago. Downloaded it to my phone to listen, and only now pulled the trigger on the LP. Cheers, J.

Hello I've still never bought anything off discogs! I also quite like the excitement of the auction. You can sometimes get some bargains at weird times of the day/week (Sunday nights are usually expensive!). Take care Kevin
@Speekers_corner7 жыл бұрын
Hi Kevin. I can say the bidding, at times, can be intriguing, I'm too impatient, however, to wait and see if something becomes mine - especially with an inflated price. Can't say I've ever come upon a bargain. Thanks for watching. Cheers, Jeff

I really like Discogs, I just hate the crazy shipping prices. Nice copy of Blue Hawaii! I've been considering starting to collect Elvis. I'm not familiar with Pepper Tree, but it looks interesting. You got a really good deal, it's tough to find anything on discogs shipped for under $30.
@Speekers_corner7 жыл бұрын
Hey Dallas. I still need to double check the Blue Hawaii pressing. It just might be an OG. Yes, under $30 is rare. One LP is typically $12-$15 to ship (just within Canada), so finding an LP in decent condition priced under $15 can be a challenge. Rewarding, however, if done. Cheers, Jeff

Good for you avoiding the bidding wars. Sometimes something comes up that you have to bid on but overall I try to avoid it as well. What kills me is the shipping costs. US to Canada is outrageous.

Hi there Jeff, Man it is great to see you again. Now is that stereo pressing of Blue Hawaii tougher to find than the mono pressing? I would love to pick up some of the earlier pressings but I would never know where to start. There are so many reissues, reissues and more reissues. There was a series that came out a few years ago that are kind of expensive nowadays. I cannot remember what they were called. But I do remember the covers being glossy and really sharp. > That Pepper Tree has become a 2017 VC staple. I remember how certain albums in the first few years of the VC someone would show an album and ten other VC members would be it. Including myself. I am sure that you remember seeing certain albums being shown a number of times. Wishing you and your family a happy Thanksgiving Jeff. Looking forward to your next update already~ Rob/Boston
@Speekers_corner7 жыл бұрын
Hi, Rob. Yes the stereo BH was tougher for me, anyway, to find. I've seen plenty of mono copies. In my quest for OG stereos and monos of Elvis' releases, this stereo press is one of the last 8 or so I still need. The Pepper Tree is an album I first heard about from my dad (I believe the band was from Nova Scotia). He's been looking for a copy for years. Quite difficult to find. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving. The Canadian Thanksgiving is celebrated in October. Thanks for stopping by and saying hi. Cheers, pal.

Discogs - dangerous for vinyl lovers :) I always look at sellers other items to see if I can lower the overall shipping - sometimes I will pay a buck more from a seller if they have other stuff I want - I have had issues a few times, but they were always resolved to my satisfaction. Interestingly enough, never had an issue with ebay.
@Speekers_corner7 жыл бұрын
Hi Kris. Yes, dangerous. I'm hoping the shipping prices will be reliable reins. Hope you're having a great Thanksgiving. Cheers!
