Wow, I have never seen that first Parliament album, that is great Chris. JuJu, that is my kind of album. I was looking at that Redd Kross album but did not pull the trigger on that one. I bought a couple of their albums. Vocal jazz, I fall into the not my thing category. Congrats on Zep 3, mission accomplished. I am at peace , I appreciate that Chris. Always a pleasure to hang out with you. That was a lot of music

I had never seen that Parliament record anywhere but Discogs Steve...I was shocked! The Redd Kross is great and really inexpensive. I think you would like it. No vocal Jazz huh? I guess it's not for everyone. Take care!

Africa Brass 2 has a special place in my heart as it was the first "new" Coltrane album to be released after I started listening to jazz. Lou Donaldson, nice! Cool score on the Wild Man Fischer--that one's not so east to find.

That's pretty cool Michael! It's a neat album to hear some different arrangements from the original album. Wild Man is an acquired taste! Take care!

Hey Chris; Like the tower speakers, good sound. Parliament, Osmium good find on Invictus. Some nice finds of Funk, Jazz, African, Jazz, Rock, Classical, & Folk. May Company looks interesting. Wild Man Fischer, the story is correct. His mother is a standup cut out. Larry hung around Dodger stadium singing songs. Frank took him in & wrote a score for the tunes. Good video. Baseballs back. The Yankees/ Mets game was cancelled this weekend for a later date. Take care. Tina & Pat!~

May Company isn't one that I was seeking out but it's a pretty cool find. The Wild Man album has its' moments but I need to listen to it a few more times. I saw the Mets were the latest team to get struck by the virus...not sure if they'll make the whole season. Take care!

Hey there Chris. Great to see you again. I didn't think that St Anger was a bad album at all. I grabbed a copy of the self-titled {Black Album} that was a Simply Vinyl reissue with the Vertigo labels. It looks kind of nice. The Vertigo labels are only on one side unfortunately. That Max Roach was a sweet grab. Nice copy of III. Did you check the run-out groove to see if it had any inscriptions? Crowley related 'Do What They Wilt' on side A if I remember right. Side B has "So Mote It Be". So the Wildflowers compilation is an offshoot of the Ill Considered album? Checking out the Nat Birchall . Outstanding selections once again Chris. Your updates are simply fantastic. Definite faves of mine. Hope you are enjoying the endless summer weather to the fullest. It has been weird here in New England. Last weekend it rained all weekend and was cooler. The week was amazing. Now this weekend we had Sat and Sunday thunder/lightning storms. No beach, no waves, not happy. I need to move to the west coast. {smile} Talk to you soon C~ Rob/Boston

I definitely don't think St. Anger is their worst album by any means but not their best either. Still enjoyable though. I have not checked the deadwax on III yet but I'll get back to you. The Wildflowers comp is something different than the group Wildflower which is an offset of Ill Considered. Trying to enjoy the summer as much as possible but it sucks not being able to do any travelling. Hope all is well up in the NE...take care!

I've never been disappointed in an Alice Coltrane record. Or a Janos Starker record. Da Capo - my favorite Love record. Wild Man Fischer - very funny/cool - I remember seeing it in stores in the 90s, but now they are rare.

Very true on Alice records. They are getting pretty expensive so I only pick them up when I find them for a great deal. That Fischer album is an acquired taste and I need to give it a few more spins before I make my final judgement. Hope all is well on the farm...take care!

Another amazing collection of records there Chris. Very cool that the wife is a Scorpions fan. That Blackout lp is a masterpiece for me. Good luck with the record show. Enjoyed! Andre’

First Pressing Goodness again, that is so cool that your wife digs the scorpions. Blackout was the last album that I bought in Hs before I started back 3 years ago. Take care .

Hi Chris, nice one with great finds. Been watching your videos. Impressed especially by your interest in the current UK jazz scene, maybe you can do a special vid on just that, on what draws you there and what you recommend. Cheers

That's actually a really good idea for a video. I'll try to put one out here pretty soon. Thanks for watching!

Hi Chris, been enjoying your vids for awhile but I guess I've never commented before for some reason....you showed a lot of great stuff here. Sweet Parliament score. I love Da Capo. Some people slag side two but I love it personally. Really cool to see that promo Blonde on Blonde Contrasts...just picked up a reissue but I really like it. Muriel Grossman is great. I enjoyed hearing about Hassan...that's a fascinating story. I've always been intrigued by that Wild Man Fischer album. Haven't heard it yet though. And I'm just getting into Donald Byrd....I mean, I've always enjoyed his music but it seems to really be hitting the sweet spot for me these days, for some reason. Anyway, great pickups and have a great week ~ Bobby B

Thanks for the comments Bobby! Agree with you on Da Capo...I like both sides. So weird that Hasaan just never got popular even though he was always around the right people. You can't go wrong with the Byrd man. Thanks for watching...take care!

Chris , does your copy of Led Zep 3 have a lot of surface noice ? Mine does . The sound quality is about a 6/10 IMO
@firstpressinggoodness83293 жыл бұрын
It's a pretty clean copy so I didn't notice a terrible amount of surface noise. I'll have to give it another listen. Thanks for watching!
