Hey Trent, thanks for another killer video. So bummed to see your operation Barbed Wire Sandwich was a bust but hey! super-glue those 2 bad boys worse sides inward and you got yourself a nice 300g copy 😜 Whoa - that Bobby Hutcherson San Francisco album is truly great. I will definitely be seeking one for myslef. Thanks for showing it! Still cannot believe you found those 2 Black Jazz records - much less on the same day - much less a sealed original! Those are killer! I recently found Gene Russell's New Direction album and that one is also awesome - I love that record. I am hoping those 2 Black Jazzes made up for some of the Barbed Wire and ink disappointments. Thanks again for the video! Be well.

Hi Ilya! But I just may have to make the first ever 300 g album in existence! It’ll be amazing lol. That Bobby Hutcherson and Harold Land album is super super good though! When I first heard it I was a little upset it had taken me that long to find out about it hahah. Definitely track a copy down if you can, but knowing you you’ll definitely be able to! Hahah I couldn’t believe it about the Black Jazz titles either! It was crazy and I was super stoked. I love the Black Jazz label so was very excited to add some titles into my collection, definitely made up for the whole Barbed Wire Sandwich fiasco lol. New Direction is really great! Might be adding it to the collection here soon.. Cheers Ilya! Thank you and I hope you take care as well, can’t wait to hear from ya next!

Hey Trent, those are some great finds. I agree that Johnny Cash was better live. Black Cat Bones has been on my radar for a long time, such a phenominal album. My friend got Cymande for a dollar right in front of me and I was super jealous, definatly kicks ass for sure. I still dont have a copy, but ive listen to it 50 times on spotify. I've never taken the shrink off of an album, but I've got a few where it might be better to take it off, I just can't bring myself to do it lol. I'm planning on making a video soon, but I've also been in that real lazy mood. Gonna check out those Gene Russell albums later. Have a good week!
@trentsrecords2 жыл бұрын
Hey Sorin! Good to hear from ya man and thank you! Cymande is super good man, very happy to get a pretty good copy of it. Even if it isn’t a first pressing lol. I’ll still take a rarer later pressing too. But once you get the shrink off of one album it’ll be easier to do the rest! Lol. You’ll get there eventually. Looking forward to the video though man! Cheers dude!

The sacred mushroom!!!! Amazing album, I also has a reissue. Finding an original is very very rare, even harder here in the 🇬🇧. Albums that peaked my interest is Coryell, not heard of that one before, cant wait to listen to it. Great video.
@trentsrecords2 жыл бұрын
Hey Martin, Sacred Mushroom is seriously good! I know you dig the blues rock stuff so I’m not surprised you’re into it hahah. But it is rare! Super hard to even find a copy here, but know some people that have a copy. But that Coryell album is super interesting. If you like shredding psych guitar then definitely recommend! Cheers Martin, hope ya have a good week!
@martinsvinyl19852 жыл бұрын
@@trentsrecords Dude!!! Just finished Coryell, not only was the guitar was on 🔥 the rest of the backing band were amazing. The only thing that let it down slightly for me was the vocals weren’t doing it for me, he only sings on a couple of tracks anyway and for not very long (I’m guessing it’s Larry Coryell singing?). I quickly went onto his next album ‘Spaces’ but that one is definitely more jazz oriented. I will definitely be on the hunt for psychedelic guitar one. Thanks for the recommendation is was killer!!!
@trentsrecords2 жыл бұрын
@@martinsvinyl1985 I think the guitar is definitely the main attraction of the album and the backing band too! From what I gather it was more of an experimental album for Coryell. He really is a jazz guitarist through and through, and I’m not a huge fan of the vocals either but I also don’t think they’re horrible. Overall a killer instrumental album! Happy you enjoyed it man!

Great finds. I’ve been seeing Earl Bostic for quite some time now. All at thrift stores and all for a buck. I didn’t realize he was Jazz. Thanks for the insite on him I’ll be getting some for sure. Today I found a great copy of Thin Lizzy the Black Rose awesome find. I also filled in a spot in my Joan Jett collection. I also picked up two Chris Connor albums for a buck apiece. My record room got put off till son goes back to college. It’s an excuse I know. I just need to do the damn video , and start my channel. Chat latter Trent.

Thanks John! But yeah Earl Bostic is super interesting. You’ll have to let me know what you think of his playing, because I find it super intriguing for being the 50’s. But awesome! Hey Trent. Recently subbed and digging your videos. Sampled that Bobby Hutcherson and am liking it. Had a little of a Mwandishi vibe. Not sure I would pay whats going for though. Missed the boat I guess. Love that Cymande, it was my first online purchase 6 or 7 years ago. Need their 2 after. Black jazz is killer, I havent seen in the wild in quite some time. Thanks for the video. Cheers!

Thanks man! But you should keep an eye on it…sometimes a nicely priced copy will pop up so worth checking here and there! Cymande is really great through. Their first 3 albums are really fantastic and have been wanting their 2nd and 3rd quite a bit. Cheers man, thanks for the comment!

Black Cat Bones! Nice score (sort of 🙃). It sucks when your gamble on a record doesn’t work out. Hopefully you didn’t pay too much for it. Your third copy will be the one. Sacred Mushroom is cool. For sure the cover is more psychedelic than the music itself. Haven’t listened to it in a while. Fantastic cover though. Live Cash is definitely the best Cash for sure. Cheap clean copy in the shrink, all day. Still looking for that Coryell! It’s fantastic and haven’t seen it in the wild yet!
@trentsrecords2 жыл бұрын
Hey man! Yeah I was pretty disappointed when the other one wasn’t even slightly nicer…but all in all I didn’t spend thattt much, but just enough to where it was mildly irritating lol. Sacred Mushroom is a pretty great bluesy album, really want an original because I’m originally from Ohio and they’re from Cincinnati! But agreed on Cash, so so good on all his live albums. I don’t see that Coryell too often though! But it does pop up here and there, so I hope you’re able to snag a copy soon! Cheers man!
