Nice to discover your channel ! So far.. I like The Electric Prunes album collection.. Those are a good value, for sure ! I have an OG US press Julie London in NM condish. I sent another copy off as a VCLT not long ago..I should track down some Magazine on vinyl.. I don't have any.. Criminal ! LoL !! 😉

Hi, thanks for watching and commenting!. I've actually been watching your videos for a while now, but haven't always commented. OGs of that first Julie London album aren't always easy ( or cheap) to come by in the UK. Yes, pleased to get the Prunes collection, definitely a cheaper alternative to original vinyl!.

@robison5396 Really ! Thanks for that. I'm a digger, for sure. I buy at my local indie record shop as well, and online. I am on a Prefab Sprout kick right now ! Great sophisticated pop music . See you again on yours.. ✌️

Hi Rob ...you've opened that wormhole of culty Italian movie soundtracks. There are so many Stelvio Cipriani soundtracks out there, and many have his signature sound. Add Ennio Morricone's staggeringly prolific output and you have the potential of buying 100's of lps. Enjoyed your update!

I could very easily dive down that wormhole!.

Hi Rob. Some nice pick ups - especially Hawkwind, Gong (love the humour), Kevin Coyne (I saw him live once in a small pub when he was poorly; his vocals were amazingly still strong), Magazine, Them, Colin Blunstone (one of the great voices) and Electric Prunes (the only vinyl I have is 'Mass In F Minor' on Sunset). Lovely clean sleeve on the Pilot album.

Hi Rob, interesting finds. While I’ve been up on Kevin Ayers, I’ve been behind on Kevin Coyne. Well done on finding Magazine in such good condition. Never seen that Them album in the wild. Enjoy the rest of the weekend - Steve

Great selection Rob. I've long been curious about Kevin Coyne but I don't think I've ever listened to one of his albums. I remember Rob Sounds Strange talking about him very enthusiastically - maybe that's who you saw too? You did a good sales pitch on the Tropicalia LP and the Italian soundtrack one, will definitely be streaming them. Real Life by Magazine is a record I've been after for many years - got it on CD but have never seen a vinyl copy in the wild. I've been listening to a lot of post-punk music recently after reading Bobby Gillespie's autobiography 'Tenement Kid', which is a great book. In that he talks quite a bit about the crossover between post-punk and art-rock. I picked up a Them best-of CD last year after reading a Van book and was knocked out by how good it was. There's been a copy of 'One Year' lurking in my local Oxfam for quite a while but it's out of my price range. Cheers, James

Cheers James You're spot on with Kevin Coyne, it was Rob at Sounds Strange and I think he was talking about his debut album. Tenement Kid sounds like a great read..although I'm still trawling my way through Keith Moons' biography!. One Year is such a sublime album, one of those records that just gets better each time you play it..hmm, I do have a spare copy...message me. Thanks for watching, hope you're keeping well. Let's have a zoom catch up soon.😉

Hey Rob. Some great pick ups. That Hawkwind reissue looks great. Always thought Magic by Pilot was a great pop song.

In school we had to read Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. Very sad story but important story. I have visited Wounded Knee, another tragic part of our history. As usaul loads of music I don’t have a clue about. They replaced a picture window in our house and found a bees nest in the walls. The bees were eating the dry wall and were about ready to enter the house! Wasp have also been a problem.

Yeah, we had Masonery bees at my wifes' House, the council wouldn't remove them as they were registered as a protected species. I've never read ' Wounded knee' but after buying the Gila album, I'm intrigued. Thanks for watching and commenting as always Steve.

Some wonderful albums shown Rob. Warrior is a brilliant album, but I'm one of those who is more than happy with my original bought in the 70s. I have to admit I've no interest in the Wilson remix - I got his remix of Passion Play (one of my favourite albums ever) and didn't like it - it was just not what my ears were expecting to hear after years of playing the original. I think it's down to exactly that - I love the originals and know them so well that any deviation just doesn't sit right with me. I expect a remix of his of an album that I don't know so well would be fine. Love the Prunes - I have a Greek reissue of the 1st album from 1986, and a German reissue of Underground from the same year. My copy of Mass is also from Germany, this time from 1980. looking for a copy of Oath. I managed to see them live in Manchester in 2002 and they were superb. They had a new album out at the time Artifact which I bought on CD at the gig which was very good. Camembert Electrique was one of the very first albums I bought when I started collecting music in around 1973/4. Absolutely adore it - my favourite Gong album (just ahead of You). Wonderful pick up of the Gila album. A very different album from their first (which I probably prefer). The leader Conny Veidt also played with Popol Vuh. That Femina Ridens albums sounds interesting - one to explore methinks. Marjory Razorblade is a really good Coyne album, but I remember on first hearing it being very disappointed with the title track. This was because I was used to the live Marjory Razorblade Suite that was on the Virgin sampler V which is magnificent (8:30 compared to the 1:42 of the original) - if you've not heard it check it out (it was added to the CD reissue of the album). Came late to the party with Magazine. Picked up Play a few months ago at the Windermere record fair -he had a couple of other albums by them so I might pick them up when I go back on Saturday (if they're still there). All the very best... Pete

Thanks for the detailed reply Pete!. Yes, I was really pleased with this haul, very varied with some long-time wants and more surprise new finds that we're new to me. I keep hearing mixed reviews from fans of varying artists regarding Steven Wilson remixes, I guess it's hard to please everyone and sound is subjective. I would've bought the reissue despite his name being on it because I couldn't find an OG in good condition at a fair price..70s Hawkwind albums have become really collectable of late and prices are going up. Hope you're keeping well. 👍

Hi Rob. I bought that Hawkwind when first released and the original sounds just fine although I have not heard the repress to compare. That’s the way to go with the Prunes. Wyndham records are always a nice quiet listen. I have one Coyne record, and would pick up more. I got my first Magazine album, and I definitely want more but they are hard to come by over here. Cheers.

That Prunes CD collection was a steal, I'll still be looking out for the vinyl, but won't hold my breath. The Magazine debut is fabulous, so glad to have that finally..my sister had the follow up Secondhand Daylight which is great too, albeit more progressive sounding. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙂.

Hi Rob. I'm tempted by the Hawkwind, I have an OG but it would be good to hear what the remix has done. I have walked straight out of shops before now where the bins are crammed tight, it's a real turn-off for me. Agree an interesting Gila album. Nice looking Cipriani soundtrack. A real mixture of great records there...cheers Dale

Cheers Dale The Hawkwind sounds great although to my ears the original was decent too, reccomended if you can get for a decent price. Stuffed bins are a pain ( and terrible for vinyl!). Have a great week.

Been doing quite well with finding Hawkwind originals recently but haven’t seen Warrior on the Edge of Time around. I may have to check out the remix you’ve shown here. Tightly packed albums are a real turn-off in a record shop. I’m sure I’ve missed some goodies by giving up out of frustration in such cases. Nowt wrong with Pilot. I have that album and particularly like Just A Smile. Camembert Electrique - fantastic. Was lucky to find their first LP last week. Will be showing soon. Never heard that Gila LP, good find. Hope you get those water problems sorted out! Take care, John.
