Great job! I have had my Vinyl Flat for a year now. It does a great job for me. 55 years of buying vinyl with 2800+ albums it has been very handy.

It has been successful on all but maybe one album I have used the Vinyl Flat on. Thanks for your comment. Appreciate the kind words.

Interesting. I have the picture disc of Tubular Bells and I swear the damn thing is like the hills and valleys of Wales. It has never been playable since I bought it. Would love to see the Vinyl Flat take it on.

We have about same routine---vac cleaner and followed by Degritter. I have 1st edition of vinyl flat. I have successfully used it several times...I have found it takes 8 to 10 hours. Usually I am too lazy for moderate warps to use. How is that new Hama Red cart?
@Metalshock-qn9vs Жыл бұрын
I too got pretty lazy for moderate warps once I got a periphery ring. But I now have a second Turntable, a Technics SL-1210G and no ring, so if I want to play a warped record on that table, then I'll need the Vinyl Flat. I'm enjoying the Hana Red. Got about 25 hours so I assume I'm still in the break-in period. I'm lucky as the Technics is running an Ortofon Cadenza Black and I also have a second arm on the VPI that runs a DS Audio 003 optical cartridge. So I get to play around.

i do ultrasonic cleaning and vacuuming after with use of the brush and distilled water after all dry I use ORB from Japan which now comes as 100-120V device so no step down in US needed did flat mamy records by using middle heat setup I never lock the upper flap I just put it down on the record and they come perfect

@@dariuszsalamon9441 that's interesting. Another subscriber mentioned not tightening the wing nut and you say you don't use one at all. I'll give that a try on my next attempt to flatten a record. Thanks and thanks for watching.

According to the instructions you are not meant to tighten the wing nut, it should be a loose fit. I've used a Vinyl Flat with the heated pouch for years and it's a great way to remove warps. I've never come across a warped record that this thing can't fix.

If the question is not to personal, what did your turntable cost? The reason I ask is all this hub bub about dust covers. It seems the highest high end turntables, aren’t seen with dust covers. I suppose if you have one it’s got to be a behemoth as well. Probably special ordered and can’t possibly be cheap looking to cover a real work of art

Take a look at some of my music videos and click on the description(s). In there I have links to the equipment I use. You can get a general idea on cost from that. As for the dust cover, I have one on my Technics Turntable, but I remove it while playing. I used to have an acrylic cover for the VPI Turntable in this video, but once I added the Tru-Glider Tonearm I could no longer use it. The Acrylic cover was good because of dust, but it was huge. Wasn't a big deal to me as I would just take it off and replace it when done. Now I just have to dust more often. When I do dust, trust me, I always put the cartridge covers/guards back on. Cartridge needles worst friend is a dust cloth.

Great. Thanks for your response. I have a Denon turntable with the dual use dust cover. Basically used as the record jacket display stand. So it’s removed entirely from the platter. I’m sure you’ve seen then. I like it and have no qualms playing records without having to close a lid!

? How can there possibly be a warp on one side but not the other

On my other channel @brianprichard1839 a while back I did a couple episodes of the vinyl flat. Both of those videos also had warps primarily on one side and I too found it perplexing. A subscriber said this... "Many warped records are warped from the center, out, being concave on one side and convex on the other". Makes sense. What was odd with this specific warp was that it was worse on Side A and slightly on Side B. But after a couple 2.5 hours in the Vinyl Flat it got worse on Side B. Luckily one more round in the Vinyl Flat cured that issue. I did face Side B up in it for the last episode (not sure what this would do, but I tried it anyway).

Nice. Only too 7 1/2 hrs. 😂

No 'rush' (pun intended) on my end. I got plenty of other albums to listen to. You can't rush the process out of risk of damage.

lol. Worked great. I’ve gotten new vinyl that wasn’t that flat.
