Awesome recap video! I will have to reference it whenever I do my 2024 recap video. Yeah, I am really surprised about the Duke Pearson record not being touched since Classic Records last reissued it.

What a wonderful journey and record discoveries. I think my son, Joseph was in Japan at the same time. He was there for almost three weeks. Night and Day is one of my very favorite albums by my favorite jazz musicians. Beautiful Michael ❤️🔥

What an élégant group of records. As I'm sure you've heard many times before, you have a beautiful speaking voice.

Drooling into my tea here... I so love your "new style" videos -- and then there's the records! If I had been in your shoes I would still be in those stores!!!! Congratulations on getting that Duke Pearson grail! The du Pré really has to be heard in its stereo incarnation. I have an early pressing which sounds terrific. EMI Testament did a supposedly AAA reissue which is meant to be very good indeed, and then of course there's the ridiculously priced Electric Recording Company version.

Will need to find the du Pré EMI reissue. Good intel there. The Duke sounds fantastic as well, which I think I failed to mention. Cheers and see you soon, dear Mark!

beautiful scenery and records my friend. Was curious how the japanese trip went. You showed some serious restraint! Loved the presentation and always nice to get an update Michael.

Jokes aside, I had to physically and manually extradite myself from the shops. Hope you and fam are warm and well. You're overdue for an LA visit. And I'm excited to hear an update on your recent recording / mixing etc...

What an exciting trip. Love that work did not get in the way of you exploring Japan, too many people miss out on that. Very interesting albums, were prices good or did you find them higher? I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and I wish you a fantastic 2025.

Most of these LPs were about $10-20 USD. A couple were under $10. The Duke Pearson was the highest at around $35. It took all my power of restraint to not come home with about 50 albums. One thing I failed to mention is that all of these were NM on the vinyl itself. Gotta go back! Hope you and your family are enjoying a warm and beautiful season. Cheers from out west.
