What do you think of my selections? What would you have chosen differently?

Hey Kieth! Thank you so much for the shout out and amazingly kind words. Appreciate it. I hadn't known of the Suffolkaudiophile chap, so of course I subscribed to him. Excellent selections for the tag. I almost went with Dio as my dearly missed but wanted him for my multiple bands artist. Nice Elf lp. I saw that in a local shop and passed on it regretted it immediately. I went back and it was gone!! Funny I almost went Deep Purple for 1974 (but Stormbringer funny enough...same year - wow!) I also considered a Deep Purple connection with Nazareths Roger Glover produced - Rampant. I also considered Genesis - Selling England by The Pound as a genre defining album. There are so many answers to these and the beauty is, none are wrong. That Phil Collins album IS the perfect choice though! Lol! The YYZ song are the Toronto international airport call letters used by airtraffic control. If one travels in Canada that 3 letter call sign is on ones luggage, plane ticket etc. Peart has said those three letters were meaningful as it meant they were going home. I too love TL, but only have Jailbreak and Renegades lps. I had feeling Lynott would be your answer following your choice of TL to show the vertigo label and how ypu described that. Such a tragic loss. (Also made me wonder if you are Irish...((my dear mom's family is Irish)) even though I think you mentioned being in Suffolk) Those Maiden singles are to die for. My fave band of all time. Especially those early years. Consider me jealous. Limelight eh? Funny I should think of RUSH, but never heard of that band. Definitely will be on my radar. Thanks again Kieth. Thoroughly enjoyed watching your tag. Good luck in your journey back into the greatest format ever. I look forward to catching as many vids as I can. Take care. Cheers! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘

Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the choices. I nearly had Phil Lynott as my dearly missed but ended up swapping him and Dio around. I've had that Elf album a LONG time and realised on picking it out it was still in the shrink wrap (except for a slit to get the vinyl out of course). Incredible to think that both Burn and Stormbringer came out the same year isn't it. I don't have any Irish connection at all, I'm just a huge Lizzy/Lynott fan, in fact co-incidentally I just booked trip to Dublin in a couple of weeks so will visit his Statue and hopefully see some other cool Lizzy stuff. Maiden were one of my first Favourite bands and I'm gutted that some of the singles etc seem to have disappeared but I'm grateful for what I have. They were the first real band I saw live with Dianno (twice) and then of course Bruce on the Number of The Beast tour. Limelight, to me are kind of a mix between Zep, Thin Lizzy, Rush and Hendrix. They were a three piece with twin neck guitars, bass pedals, Mellotron etc. Possibly mostly nostalgia but I love them. One of the issue I had with the tag was being a little limited to the all the Vinyl I have being so old, otherwise I might have had some different answers. Will have to take some time to work through your back catalogue of vids :) 🎸

Great response to the Tag - I clicked seeing your thumbnail showing 'Stormbringer' which is my favourite Deep Purple album. The Tag is a good way to get some exposure as a new channel in the VC - my first video was for the Tag 2 years ago. I am also a big RJD fan kicking off from buying 'Rising' in '76 - I was delighted to pick up Carolina County Ball a few months ago at a table top sale. I hear you on that old chestnut 'Beatles or Stones?' - I really don't listen to either of them! Now Subbed - and look forward to seeing your future videos as we seem to share music interests. Best regards, Richard.

Hey Richard, really appreciate the comment. Glad you enjoyed my selections, certainly sounds like we are kindred spirits. I definitely felt like it's good timing with me just launching the channel. Thanks so much for subbing - Keith

Great to see some love for Glenn Hughes. Have shedloads of albums by him. Good work sir

My wife in particular is a HUGE Glenn fan so we tend to go to several shows per tour. We have pretty much everything he’s done but the majority is on CD. Annoyingly my original copy of Play Me Out seems to have disappeared.

@@BackInTheGroove still a fab singer. Saw him last tour. I have all his solo stuff on Cd. I do own Play Me Out. Never quite got that album. Love the LA Blues album

He definitely has a great voice technically, but despite him having written some great songs in his time, I find his recent songwriting a bit weak and I'm not a big fan of the Black Country Communion albums.

Nice video. I love your enthusiasm about getting back into vinyl. I need to dig out that Limelight album. Haven't thought about it in years.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it, and that the enthusiasm shows :) Good to hear from another Limelight owner, you owe it to yourself to give it another spin 🤟🏻

@BackInTheGroove I am from the US but I collected a lot of New Wave of British Heavy Metal in my youth. I had a record shop near me that carried Kerrang and Sounds . I would ask the shop owner to order stuff in for me that I saw in the pages of those magazines. Good times.

Wow! I'm impressed. I know a lot of British lads my age who saw them in the local clubs and bought the record but to pick one up in the US - Hats off to you!! They were indeed good times that I dearly miss for sure.

Stones all the way.

Haha - each to their own. As per the video, I'm not for either all that much.

VHS Classic. Any good classic horror films in the collection?
@BackInTheGroove19 күн бұрын
I assume you mean all the VHS vids in the background? All music, either official, recorded from TV appearances etc or bootlegs. And they are just the tip of the iceberg that I am hoping to sort (and digitise) one day :)

Beatles or Stones? Umm, I’m going with the Kinks 🤣. I too have not taken drugs, but for an album to listen too? Probably 70s Tangerine Dream. Best live album? Well, I know you’re more a Mk III fan, but have to go with Made in Japan…. Not going to argue with your Neil Peart choice (though his drumming on the live version of ByTor and the Snowdog is a standout for me) - much missed.

Made In Japan's a decent enough album just not a "best" for me. I'm actually now starting to think of albums I hadn't considered (AC/DC If you want Blood, The Alice Cooper Show, Maiden- Live after Death, Kiss Alive II and so many more). And of course I hadn;t even considered Peart for my dearly missed. Must give it more thought in future :)

Beatles or Stones, njaa, Children of bodom all the way, end of the day.

Haha, they might peak my interest a little more at least :)
