Good one, Harry, & good call on *Matt* at *Pop Goes the 60s* . *Miles Kind of Blue* - - Birth of Cool period best by far to me. I dismiss his funk period outright & in fact anything past early '60s - - same way I prefer very early Coltrane & reject all the spiritual stuff (don'tshootme *Fred Putterman!* ), even though I know this makes me an unsophisticated primitive to jazzers & maybe even square. My saving grace, I like everything *Monk* . 6:20 Good example showing *M45* does know stuff despite reputation of 'buying' a reputation. I have 2 good examples supporting this too, though I don't know him & despite whatever else VC rifts. One example is ironically around the *MoFi* implosion, *3 months* before theshthitthefan. M45 was actually onto the 'all-analogue' skepticism in an intriguing vid that's still up. He didn't know the extent of it then, & no one picked up on the implications in the vid comments thread. Not till 3 months later did it surface - - but he was on the right track ahead of the expose. Opposite end of M45's budget range, I can't blow big bucks at vinyl. But now I have a turntable again, I just blew over 100 quid on mostly vintage soundtracks, only because some were remarkable '60s N.M. bargains. New issues-wise, heads up on Italian repressing of Morricone's *The Good the Bad & the Ugly* - - 5 extra tracks beyond original issue. 3xcd edition has even more but I stayed vinyl. And *Beatlemania 4 Photographers* book already mentioned, hard to get in UK - - terrific 1963-65 b/w photos by 4 photographers with inside access in Liverpool & London. Not images of fans, despite the book title: all about the band, especially working in EMI Studios. Great anecdote I half-forget (not in this book) may be apocryphal but said to be legit memory of the Hollies drummer: he's queueing for a snack in EMI's canteen & looking around he saw 2 Beatles, 3 Shadows, John Barry, George Martin & Shirley Bassey scattered around the rough-&-ready tables. Oh - - & Adam Faith... which drops the anecdote down a step.

Man, did you nail it with Robbie Fulks! I saw him earlier this year at the Heights Theater in Houston with Darrell Scott (another great one). He did Fartheewell, Carolina Gals with a great fade out, slowly turning his back on the audience and walking out of the spot light while still faintly playing and singing. You could have heard a pin drop, followed by a standing "O". I agree, don't miss Robbie live.

Great post, Harry!!! It almost made it worth watching the replay of Rachel's stream on Wednesday morning, when they discussed... ad nauseam... the VC Vinyl Tag 2025 (who should have done it, when it should have been done, etc...) Thankfully, some idiot in the peanut gallery started bitching to Patrick & Rob about their vinyl auctions (Just "Don't Bid, Don't Watch, You Nimrod," should have ending that, but he wouldn't listen to such logic by the two sellers, but at least the topic changed for a few minutes.) No such issues among us "Living in a Digital World" (cds, dvds, blu-rays, hd video files...) By the by, if you're wondering why I kept watching, I was decorating the Christmas Tree and it was my break between adding another hundred ornaments (the lesser of two evils.) 😇

I think David Crosby has one of the best voices in Rock but I’m disappointed with his output. I have Grand Funk Live. I should get Absolutely Live. Pink Floyd is great on acid. It is hard to beat those 3 Beatles singles. I purged all my Yes albums except the first three. I have already pulled the albums for this but I will wait a few weeks before posting.

why springsteen spruce write them sap songs? you made the wrong choice, pal. the stones beat them to a pulp. It's laughable that its even those two bands bc the beatles dont have a seat at that table. must be convenient to separate politics from your music. That's the wrong approach. Most of these artists are free thinkers and are are on the right side of the issues.

I also don't think Nugent because he was running a business where people could come out to his ranch and shoot rare animals that were caged There somebody is Going Out into the wild and hunting big predator animals that are not very common that's already bad enough but if you want to get a trophy out of walking app and shooting something that's got to stare at you from between bars that's just messed up. No appreciation for him or customers that would do that. There's something very depraved and sadistic about it.
