I agree nobody does the b4 and after. That being said I get my used dollar bend records just as good if not better by 1st using carbon brush to knock off large particulate, then I spray down with 10% 91 isopropyl and 90% distilled water then wipe down with microfiber towels. Lastly I use the bigfudge roller (5***** product) then sleeve and I am good to go. Most almost sound brand new with no surface static. Don't think I will ever change. But for the price this vac system seems cool

Vinyl Vac works great. When I got back into vinyl last year I bought a new Discwasher D4 because that is what I used as a kid. Well, all it did was move the dirt around a bit, total waste of money. I searched and watch reviews and demos of the various cleaning systems and decided the VV made the most sense to me. I had the vacuum already so the other stuff was cheap and easy to put together. I like how Vinyl Vac encourages the DIY aspects . Works great and I enjoy the challenge of getting these old records to sound as good as possible. Don’t really have experience with other systems, but I can recommend this one. Thanks for the great review.

Waw, from what I saw so far, it looks like the best way to clean vinyls for cheap. I would say the only problem with that is when you flip the record to clean the other side, you will put in contact the newly cleaned side on the not-so-clean slipmat, but it should be acceptable I guess. Are you confident to do this process on your high value records ?
@Music-for-Miles5 жыл бұрын
Lucien Berard yeah for sure. It’s a deep clean I wipe the slipmat before flipping. Anything that gets on it after a deep clean is just in the surface and easily wiped off with a carbon fiber brush before playing.

When I first started collecting 2 years ago I bought a vinyl that was about $40 @ that time & in a few months the price sky rocketed & people are now spending $500 on it. I already treat my records like the most fragile things ever. I clean them every play & the valuable ones I rarely listen to out of fear of just removing them from the sleeve. & This particular 1 ive played 2-3×. I took it out a few months ago to play it & A LOUD AF STATIC NOISE WAS COMING OUT OF IT ON SIDE A & B. Side C & D are fine. They didn't sound this way before. I don't touch the grooves I use a little mit to pick them up & put em down. I tried cleaning it with 5 different cleaners, tried soaking it. & Its the most valuable 1 I own & an album I love. Im seriously near tears Everytime I play it hoping it sounds ok. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this????! Plz? Or HOW TF IT HAPPENED? Seriously im close to obsessive about how delicate I am. My mom was over the other day & started laughing when she saw me handling 1 putting it on the turntable. So again WTF!?

When I was in my teens, just getting into music. 8-Tracks were recently discontinued, because the "New" Compact Cassette (tapes) were infinitely better. I grew up with LP's and tapes. When the Compact Disc CD came out, it immediately buried the Cassette Tape and eventually killed off LP sales too. It killed these inferior technologies because it was better in every way. I was in my 20's, and had the means to replace my collection. I immediately saw and heard the advantages of CD. No more tape hiss, no more crackling and surface noise, no worn needles or out of wack tape heads muffling the sound. CDs never wore out, always sounded great and took up only a quarter of the space. Now, enter the Mp3 (or flac for the extreme perfectionists). Cheap, portable, CD quality sound @320kbs. Can fit 10,000 songs on a simple flash drive. Plug it into my phone or USB equipped home and car stereos and never think twice about having to interact with my media. I lived through all those types of media. I would never, in a million years, go back to LP's. It's the equivalent of going back to a rotary phone with a curly cord. What's next? I saw my favorite band, Overkill, issued their latest release on Cassette tape. WTF? Cassettes were disposable crap you threw in your car, or carried to the beach. Play them 10 times and they were done.

@@Music-for-Miles I get my files from Amazon in Mp3. or listen in prime. Prime is a little fiddly though, especially when the car is connected to my phone. I couldn't imagine listening to 6 songs and having to go flip a record or tape. But hey, a hobby is a hobby. I couldn't imagine climbing the side of a mountain with a rope either. On the other hand, people see my junk Jeeps and wonder why I spend so much money on them. It's the hobby. Funny thing about "supporting the artists". We buy our music Itunes, Amazon and Spotify. Those are the biggest thieves going. They make billions, and pay the artists pennies. At least with illegal downloading, no one's making money.

@@Kewrock I am actually an artist and have several albums for sale, Purchasing on itunes and amazon does yield money directly to the artist while "streaming" gives the artists a fraction of a penny. I get about $9 per purchase on itunes, cdbaby and amazon of our albums. LP sales get about $15-19 per record sold. On the other hand streaming on Apple music, Spotify and Amazon music yield about $4-5 per album total annually. It's sad.

Sorry don´t mean to be rude but those clicks and pops on the dirty records are fake, they were created with a digital effects Pllug in a digital editor (there are free editors BTW) . It comes from a mastering eng. I cut records for almost 20 years, so I heard a "few" real clicks and pops. It´s sad because probably that thing will work with other preclean method. Again clicks and pops don´t have a low ferecuency fundamental as trong as in this video even if you turned up your bass control all the way up. Sorry, nice try. If you delete this messege you´ll confirm this is fake. Bye
@Music-for-Miles Жыл бұрын
I appreciate your comment. I have zero incentive to make a fake video for a small brand that didn't even pay me $1 for doing this. I thought it was cool and made the video for free. If anything it shows how well the system works if you think I'd fake it. I too have mastering and engineering experience and not sure when you're hearing clicks and pops when mastering audio since that's a byproduct of dust and scratches post pressing...
