Another thing that might be important is speed accuracy. The LP60X doesn't have any way to keep speed in check, so it may drift a bit , while the LP120X has quartz lock (and a strobe) to keep itself at the perfect speed.

@@chip48 It won't damage vinyl. The LP60 and 60x do have counterweights implemented into the tonearm by use of a spring. The tension of these springs are good and only bear a tracking force of a little over 3 grams which is ideal for tonearms of this type.

Thanks for the comparison! I'd like to add the 120 has Pitch adjust, and it's "quartz timed." Meaning if one is 'pitch-error' adverse, then consider the 120. My 2015 120 is still going strong, and I don't have noticeable 'rumble' from the direct drive motor.

The LP120X-USB’s direct-drive motor has a cogging issue that can be heard in quiet music and between tracks. Trust me, it’s annoying. They lose the dampening affect and end up just dropping the stylus hard onto the record unless you slowly lower it keeping a hold on the queuing lever. You can fix this by leaving the lever in the ‘up’ position when you not using it. It works smoothly and slowly lowers the tone arm. I read it on one of the forums and it’s so much easier than replacing it. Bigger problem is some of the older lp120s anti skate practically didn’t work. Again they do a kit to replace it but it’s fiddly, I found though that I could get mine to still work but it was turned up to the max. Still a great turntable and I only got rid of mine to upgrade to the Fluance rt85.

the biggest advantage of the 120 is the speed adjustment and visualization of the speed to adjust it with so its always perfect or close to it

Jarrett, you should look at some isolation for those speakers and turntable.

I’ve been a record collector for close to 7 years now, and have only just upgraded from a god awful suitcase player to the LP60. I think even though it’s closer to an entry level turntable, it’s of exceptional quality and it blew my mind away when I put my new Beast in Black album on it with some JVC speakers.

I've got the older LP-120 USB that I've upgraded with a cork mat and an Ortofon 2M Red. What changes, if any, did Audio Technica make with this new LP-120X model?

Got a LP60X but plan on upgrading to the LP120X in the future. I plan on using my valve T91 Pilot radio as a powered speaker. Everyone I know who plays records both vinyl and shellac use the LP120X.

i got myself an lp60 for 2 main reasons. the lp60 is much cheaper and so is the stylus. the other reason is because lp60 is automatic. i dont want having to keep move the arm each time i listen to my vinyl and having to check when the arm gets at the end of the vinyl to remove it from there. i been using my lp60 for 2 years and it works great.

How the heck Amazon sell 120x for 399 not 250,any link i could buy it?
@vinyleyezz3 жыл бұрын
I think the price fluctuates based on how many Amazon has in stock at any one time, if you give it a few days they’ll probably get more and the price will go back to normal. 👍

I bought the LP60X for my daughter for Christmas. It's an excellent table for beginners. I'd say the 120 would be a good bet for someone who's at least spun a record before, and already has an idea of what they're getting into.

I have the AT-LP60BT, I'm considering the AT-LP120XBT-USB, my 60 was a gift so I don't recall the price, but feel like it was over $110. The 120 I'm looking at retails at $400. I rarely use the bluetooth feature bc it takes forever to pair. And I use two google home speakers for my audio. I'm curious if I should even upgrade my table? I don't need the third speed, but want to get a better audio if possible...

I recently purchased an AT LP 120XUSB turntable. It is awesome and just has my name all over it. I have on order a MoFi Geo-Disc and a stylus tracking scale so I can really dial in all the settings.

The LP120X can play those 8 inch 78s with the tiny label in the center, due to being fully manual. Automatic turntables stop half way through on those 8 inch 78s, which isn't helpful.

I received the LP60xBT for Christmas. I like it, but it spins a bit too fast. I've only put about 4 hours of play time in it. IDK if I should play it longer and let the belt relax a bit more or try to manually adjust the motor.
