I'm not sure if that's really true because there are probably some unusual record players that can have the record stick out on the edge. But you can probably just feel and see that this bad record player isade with cheap plastic and cheap materials. And also if you can play a record on it than it should sound pretty good if the record player is good quality. And the price is lower than a good quality player. For not to much money you can probably buy an old good quality record player. You can check on Google for more information about this because there are more things to do this the best way and still not to expensive

Crosley I think made the whole market come back to vinyl and caused a huge amount of people to get them due to "omg this new thing is cool" which probably is the reason some of my albums are in vinyl. Maybe it could of been that reason, who knows, but the new found fame helped for people who like to collect new records .

You are great and help a lot, I’m asking for a record player and watching your tips to prepare. You have taught me what to buy and what not, how to clean and take care of your records. But I am going to say these record players don’t have go under $100 which is not affordable to some people. I get the cheap ones are good quality but still maybe consider looking at some cheaper to talk about in a video! Have a good day/night to everyone!

All my Beatles singles, EP's, and LP's are original Parlaphone, bought within a few days of issue in the UK. I never play them now, much prefer CD's, or internet files, no crackling or scratches. To pay a lot of money for a vinyl copy, is as daft as wearing a cap indoors, the wrong way round.

i use distilled water and paper towels on two records that skip like it was sunday school kids playing on the playground , my results , for those about to rock , could not play a single track on side A , after distilled water and paper towels and drying it , place it in record player and side A played with not a single problem! , now on to next, heaven and hell side b was similar to my last , did the same , now audio will go down and back up on parts that skipped , had 2 hiccups not bad ones and was able to play the entire album!! original press of these albums by the way not no new walmart stuff! (i dont trust those seems they get used ones anyways even if they are new , ZIA RECORDS have the best that i seen so far with no problems! i might be a lucky one but i like ZIA)

5:19 well, no, I can't do this. I have severe ptsd to s*xual content and I have to look into everything I listen to to see if it's safe. Like, there are some Korn albums I cannot buy because of that reason. I think it would be really fun to do this if I didn't have ptsd of any kind and if I liked all types of music. My friend at work does this, but I cannot. I listen to rock and metal and I'd hate to accidentally buy a rappers vinyl or something.

I have a suitcase style one. I like that its a speaker as well. I can use it when my good JBL dies. I bring it to work with me so I can play my vinyl at work. I don't think I could carry a proper record player back and forth. The sound quality isn't as good as my cds and it isn't as loud as my speaker, but I love that thing regardless. It actually started messing up just recently. The needle would skate across the vinyl really fast and wouldn't stay in place and play properly. I was looking at it and I see the needle has completely disappeared, so I bought a pack of 4 and they should be here in a couple of days.

I bought the project debut carbon evo and lots of upgrades in the black friday sales over the moon with the project it sounds fantastic, i really like the Fluance rt85 but for 1 thing which is a dealbreaker for me is that i dont like the belt being on the main platter they are supposed to be kept ultra clean and free from dust and being on the outside it gets dirty and if you have small children its a magnet for them to touch and pull but other than that its a lovely turntable.

Hey to whoever is seeing this, this is a late comment, at the time of writing this video was posted 7 years ago haha, a trick you can try if you notice whenever an album is being chewed its at the same or roughly the same point, skip over that song for about 5 times while listening to the album whenever you do and when it gets to the next end of the side rewind it to the beginning, by this if the problem is a kink in the tape which 9 out of 10 it is then it should be gone by this point, the other chance is it’s very old and you just need to except it’s had its time over decades and people had awesome memories with it, but hope is not lost for you as you can transfer the album onto a blank tape, sometimes I use Spotify and a cd copy of the album to put it on a tape, then just write the album name on the tape and put it In the albums original case and inlay and if you take care of it then u should have it another 30 or so years, hope this helps if you need it

And the belt is rounded for some dumb ass reason which makes it a complete pain in the ass to move. It’s a nice turntable but after that belt coming off MULTIPLE times and the hassle of getting it back on I sold it and ordered a fluance RT85. The orbit certainly was pretty but man, that belt design is such a terrible idea.

Love the videos, man. Irving Gillette was a pseudonym, or pen name, of the singer Henry Burr. He is known as the "original king of pop," having recorded a staggering quantity of songs in his lifetime. I have a couple of 78s of his. One song-you should check it out-is "I'm Glad I Can Make You Cry." It is a kind of anti-love song from 1918. It feels like listening to a piece of history. Be well!

Vinyl Engine has temporarily disabled new registrations, so, I'll have to post my question here. I just bought a used ION iTTUSB, which is quite a bit more cheaply built than the one in the video. What I need to know is why the back edge of the cartridge drags on the record just behind the needle. I replaced the one that came on the machine (headshell and all) only to get the same results. There is no way I can play records this way. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I love previous generation, and am upgrading to this generation. One tip is you can purchase a electrical outlet timer that you can plug those turntable into and set it to shut off power automatically which is a cheap solution to having your stylus damaged in case you fall asleep or whatever. Love your videos as always!
