I haven't gotten to try the T130, but I have 2 A139s and love them. The mounting options worked great in both our cars. I have the main unit mounted to the underside of the rear view mirror/FCW housing, the housing is black so the camera blends in and I was able to route the wiring through the housing so it's super clean and all hidden behind the mirror so you really can't see it's there. The housing also keeps the camera out of direct sun so the camera stays a little cooler as the sun is hot in south florida. The interior camera much like yours fits nicely above the rearview and has a good view of the inside. The small cables are great for routing around the side curtain airbags, I routed the cables such that if the airbags deploy the cable is above them rather than below them where it will get yanked. I don't ride share, but I like the good interior footage as previous interior footage was very helpful in a major accident and these cameras make it a breeze to have good coverage. I do like the pivot option on the T130, though down here the cops often come to the right window to be further from traffic, but sometimes they use the left window too so I'd be torn which way to aim it :). Great video as always!

T130 has only 2.4GHz wifi whereas A139 has 5GHz as well. Also, A139 appears to include the CPL in the package whereas for T130 it has to be purchased separately. Great review by the way.

I think all dash cam reviews should be done in the summertime after the car has been parked in the sunlight for 8 hours. The camera can have the greatest features in the world but nothing matters if it won't run.

@@abigbigmac Yes I bought the VIOFO A129 Pro Duo. Actually I bought 3 of them total. One for me and one for my sister and one for my mom. So far they've run without any problem. I have even been in an accident which was not my fault. I didn't need the video footage but I had it in case I did and it was very clear. I don’t think they exists yet. But that will be huge when the front camera can communicate with the rear camera via Bluetooth, no cables. That ought to be the next step in dash cams.

On the 139, looks like youve got the interior camera mounted directly on a vinyl surface - any issues trying to remove that stuff off that part of the car?

I just bought the T130. I am not sure which way to attach it to the windshield. I take my dash cam on trips and have used the alligator type suction mounts. It held my old dash cam just fine in the rental car. So my question is, do I still remove the T130 from the base and use my alligator (I don’t know the correct description) to hold it on the windshield of the rental car or pull the 3M clear sheet with camera attached and then put the 3M on the rental dashboard ? This issue of moving temporarily a dash cam and using it in another car should have a discussion. Like other, I think your explanation and videos are excellent. Roger of Orlando

Cleaning the screen with alcohol/brake cleaner before sticking is a must.. Bosses use insided camera over N/S door to record driver lap fiddling with phones. Q AV out would be good.? Could internal camera channel be swapped for a zoom or true IR camera.? You mentioned coax cable. probably a digital signal then but the A139 looks good .thank you.

I purchased the A139 recently based off of your review and just as a warning to anyone that may live in warmer temperatures, the 3M stick just completely gave out after a week, the unit comes with a backup and same thing, maybe I just got a bad batch of them, but its something worth noting.

Probably a bad batch. I've had the A139 for over a year now (bought it Aug/21) and it still has the original sticker. Just for context, I live in a very hot area and often have to park my car under direct sunlight for almost the entire day. Needless to say, it never shut down because of overheating, not even once. Very happy with the purchase, can't recommend it enough. edit: just make sure to clear thoroughly the inside of the windshield when applying the sticker, as any grease or speck of dirt will cause the sticker not adhering properly.

Definitely a bad batch/lot number on the adhesive. Mine was fine. I think bad lots of adhesives are a lot more common than people think they are.

little known fact, all double sided tape have drying times, meaning if you stick it to the surface and let it sit for 24-48 hours it will adhear like super glue... if its really hot or cold during the drying phase it will not stick well during and after drying time.. if you want it to adhear well, use rubbing alcohol on the window and surface mount clean it really good.. then stick the mount on.. ideally use something to support it.. then keep it at nominal temps for 48 hours... no extreme temps or sunlight.. should be good to go...

I have the T130...it's a great dashcam but the problem I have with ride share is that I have to turn off my car when I'm waiting for passengers. The dashcam will then turn off and sometimes I'll start my car and the dashcam is still off :/ I have to unplug it then plug it back in for it to start recording

Do you have it hardwired? If you grab the hardwire cable so it can record in parking mode and then set the dashcam to low bitrate mode so it'll continue recording audio and video while parked, I think that should do the trick to give you both driving and parking mode recording. geni.us/ViofoT130-Hardwire

Both dashcams have a setting to let you flip and rotate the image depending on what orientation you need based on mounting and angle.

I'm curious as to the rear camera with tint? is it even worth having a rear camera if you have a dark tint? if you ever had to remove the rear camera would the tint come off. 🙄 I was really wanting to get the t130. but the wire management of the a139 seems it would be cleaner. I'm not Uber so two channel would probably fit me best but it is cool to have the t130 if you do have any police encounter really tough decision. and finally you would not recommend any other more expensive camera you know over these two?

IIRC a later firmware update adjusted the colors / white balance, but I don’t have a full changelog handy with all the changes for each update to doublecheck.

What? It doesn’t need a separate WiFi hotspot to connect to. If you want to connect to the dashcam using your phone to change settings or view saved footage, the dashcam can create a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Does your dashcam have 5 GHz? If so, make sure you turn that on for faster transfer speeds. If not, you can consider upgrading to one that supports that.

When it arrived the excitement turns into disappointment because the seller is not respecting the buyer/consumer they send me a used & defective product. Unfortunately after 1 month of reporting it to Amazon they will not provide a refund plus they don’t have a proper contact number of the seller. So I loose my hard earned money just like that.

These dashcam setups are so ugly and bulky I wonder if there is any room left in the cabin for the driver and front passenger! Why don't they integrate them into a rearview mirror, both front and cabin cameras (no visible cabling too), with the rear camera integrated into the rear dash stop light? The cameras can be almost as small and stealthy as the camera sensors, all electronics (like the SD card) deported to the glove box or the dash/steering wheel for the controls. You could even integrate 2 optional side sensors to the rearview mirror (in addition to the front and cabin sensors) for people concerned with police arrests because they have illegal radar scanners (in some countries) and drive above speed limits... ;-) Developing some international standards for car communications would be great too: You could then easily plug any such dashcam into any car system, and could maybe use the large in-car storage rather than the cameras' SD card, or broadcast the video feeds to your phone or home, etc.

Sounds like you have little to no experience with dashcams? Tape mounts are more secure and compact than suction cup mounts, plus the design introduces few vibrations and this better video quality than suction cup mount dashcams. The difference is pretty clear when you try a bunch of each type, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
