Good job! One comment on the U3000 radar parking mode. It's not buffered if the U3000 has gone into its low power mode (only the radar is active). When the radar detects a moving object, it will awaken the U3000 and the U3000 will begin recording just like the low power parking mode. After the 20 second video is finished, the U3000 remains awake for up to 60 seconds. If another moving object is detected by the radar feature or an impact occurs within the "awake" period, the video will contain up to 10 seconds before the triggering event and 10 seconds after. I sent my findings to Thinkware about the radar parking mode and they eventually updated their documentation for that feature to note the actual behavior.

@@cyberpun2552 yes it will need a hardwire kit or you can cut off obd2 cable in 2 channel box. Single channel you will need to purchase a hardwire cable

I’d like to see a comparison of what cameras are capable of capturing a low impact event, say someone hitting your door when getting out. That’s the biggest frustration I have that I would like to capture. No matter how far away I park, I always get some A-hole dinging my car.

I'm looking at getting a dash cam and it's so hard to decide as the bottom line is the cam has to take clear pictures and in terms of image quality and low light etc. the black vues seems better but then the thinkware has better radar parking mode as you need it to record before something happens so you capture the event and after. What to choose...

Great channel. I recently brought the U3000 on your reviews. I especially liked the parking radar mode. Although i think the viofo has the best picture, they parking mode sold the U3000 to me. Only moan i have is the thinkware connect app. I couldn't get the bar code to be accepted, even manually so i cant log into the camera when away from car. Im in uk so maybe the reason. Keep up the good videos 👍

Hi Ben. On 1:50, you mentioned just the front and rear cameras. Does this mean the interior camera of the A229 Pro doesn't detect motion?

We Never had interior camera hooked up. 99% of our sales are front only and front and back. So we know most customers want to know how those react. Also it gives a fair comparison to 970x plus and u3000 as they are 2 camera systems. It would be very hard to independently test motion detection buffering of interior camera with all the various viewing angles

If the movement is within the view range of the interior camera, yes, it can trigger the recording. But the movement from the side out of the car may not be within the interior camera's view range. It is determined by how you install it.

I had a blackvue that worked well for many years. Then I got a new 970X for a new car, after just a year the front cam is having blurring images, out of warranty. I'm stuck with having to ship it in for repair. My next one won't be blackvue.
