"(...) Why can’t I be exactly who I am and be as complicated as I am? I reject anything anyone has ever said about me or about anyone who has ever looked like me. I’m all things, everything."

Wow, she's such a great example and I am constantly inspired by her. The most interesting things are the comments below. I can't believe that people still don't see white privilege and racism is rampant in America...wow. If you don't live that life, talk to others to find out why they say what they say. Opinion doesn't matter when a group of people is telling their story.

I wonder what to do about this thing she is saying about 'if you are poor you're invisible'. I personally have a hard time with looking at people who live in the street because I feel guilty and emberassed that they are living in the street and I have everything I need, but also I can't give them a house or something.. Sometimes I give food but I feel that makes little difference in their life. Anyone has any ideas on this?
@grovermartin68743 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is understandable. There is shame for our system, our world. If I understand her, at least we can look at them and say "Hi," to acknowledge their existence, to say with our greeting, "I see you. You are not invisible to me." And why not offer food? If I were on the street, I think nourishing food would be a very welcome sharing.

Isaiah 53:5, But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes, we are healed.For salvation, people just need to follow the way they did it in Acts? They were baptized in the water and of the spirit. Here's why! The gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. If we are to follow him, we must do the same thing. Death= repentance, Burial = baptism, and resurrection = being filled with the Holy Ghost and rising again from the dead. That's what Acts 2:38 is.We must obey the gospel, 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that OBEY NOT THE GOSPEL of our Lord Jesus Christ... Matthew 7:21-23, Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOETH THE WILL OF MY FATHER which is in Heaven. St John 3:3-5, EXCEPT a man be born of WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT, he cannot enter into the kingdom of GOD.We can't come up with our own gospel. Galatians 1:8-9, But though we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Don't be cursed. One way for all people. Jews, Gentiles, and Samaritan. Our salvation has to match-up with the scriptures and no scriptures on the subject can be taken away.Eternity is TOOO long to be WRONG! st, John 5:39, Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.God told Noah exactly how to be saved, how he must build the ark. Noah didn't come up with his own plan like people are doing today. A sinner's prayer, you just have to believe, etc which is not in the bible.The gospels show what Christ has done on the cross for us. The book of Acts shows us the beginning of Christ's Church and how to enter the Church, obeying Acts 2:38. The letters were written to the Church to show us how to behave now that we are born again into the Church.It's better to walk alone than to walk with a crowd going in the wrong direction. Are we supposed to follow the teachings of the apostles? Acts 2:42, They continued steadfastly in the apostle's doctrines. Ephesians 2:20, We are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone. Jesus Christ truly loves you. Do you truly love him? If you believe in this message, help spread it in the name of Jesus Christ. God bless.

I don't know where Viola Davis finds the patience to sit on these kinds of interviews... I really can't. Why Black women would have to sit down and break it down to White women? Why, why, why? I am not your teacher. Why don't you go and find information by yourself? I am a freaking superstar. And look at how off the body language of the interviewer is. No, no, no.

I like her a lot but people have to realize that everyone has struggles with their race. Where I’m from, most guys like darker women and more Asian looking women and are constantly telling me that I’ve never experienced racism (because I’m white and Asian but mainly look white) when there is literally a holiday called “kill all Haole day” that the local people came up with. Haole means white in Hawaiian. Not everyone hates white people in Hawaii but you can’t tell me that black people have it worse when it comes to racism in 2019. I constantly hear kids at my school and over the internet say that they hate being white and that’s just sad. No one should hate who they are because of their race. There is no systematic racism or race privileges

You have been reading, going to marches lived where black people live. Here is book suggestion New Jim Crow. My mom had similar upbringing and no one bats an eye even when black bodies are being shot, raped and killed in prison. Black ppl had to face slavery, colonialism, jim core segregation, redlining, and the industrial prisons pipeline. Hawaiian have pretty had your land colonized but US government and the whitewashing of your culture. I feel for you I do but let's not belittle ppl for there personal experiences thatis what everyone does when they see black people talk about their experiences because they want to play struggle Olympics.

Ash2theB isn’t the belittling/chastising of misfortunes what is happening now to white people because of the newfound make-whites-feel-like-crap attitude that has been adopted by democrats and projected onto people of color?
@Ash2theB5 жыл бұрын
S D just so you know I’m not liberal. I’m realistic and more centered than you feel like think I am. How hypocritical and ironic that your say that... tell me something that someone hasn’t told me here on the internet. Lol.
@Ash2theB5 жыл бұрын
princess lily You must had time today.I worked in research library for 10 years. White washing never stopped happening that why only select few who really know the American history your not it sis. It’s 2019 and the Beauty community just found out they need to be “inclusive.” Hell can’t even find my own shade at the drugstores and I live in predominantly melaninated community. Also, white people are complaining rich history of these properties their experiences on plantations that black bodies built ironic fact did you know black slaves also built the White House. That why America are so bad with history these days with failing school systems. I was actually love history in high school and did A’s talked so many history classes and social sciences which should you probably take like scientific racism. McCarthyism are your kidding me...yeah Hoover would love you for saying that. Hoped you read up the Wiley lynch, The New Jim Crow, The Grifter, and Black Wall Street first. Again second runner up in the Oppression Olympics. Also look up “generational trauma” stress does effect genes that get passed on to the next generation. Did you know if will over 200 year for black American to catch up with everyone white people economically since were on the topic now. Divide and conquer sounds about historical right. Don’t forget to add inflation to those profited tha most from slave trade and share cropping.

M G. Who still has it bad? Whose fault is it for their misfortune? Can you name any individuals who are actually responsible or do you intend upon blaming a group of people? Don't you know that there is no such thing as guilt by association? That's prejudicial to think that way. Why is it that Chinese immigrants have generally succeeded in our culture despite being the first to be prohibited from entering our country? Were they not belittled and held down for generations? Mocked and feared as opiate pushing sex traffickers? Is there not a model of attitude that can bring a group of people out of poverty despite perceived systemic issues, or do you believe that people with the "racist" skin color should have to pay you back for what someone else far back in history supported? Listen to your own ideas and then compare them to what you believe about racial equality. If we are all born into this world equal, then my perceived whiteness shouldn't burden me with additional responsibility. It's hard enough just living in a system that steals from you and punishes success (unless you're in "the club"), so why do I have to put up with shit from these so-called disadvantaged groups when they have been pandered to by politicians for gibs, essentially having had their votes "bought" for actually monetary gain, but at the higher cost of cultural decay. Tell me... since black empowerment shifted from personal responsibility for black communities and family values to welfare handouts and reparations (the product of FBI infiltration into underground groups like the Panthers), has black dependency upon the government, and by extension, the majority-white taxpaying population increased or decreased? How about the number of fathers in black households? How about the inequality of wealth between whites and blacks (which was merely 3% in 1960's Chicago)? Make sure you can handle basic arithmetic and logic so you can actually READ the studies and statistics for yourself with all of the little details they either fudge or leave out. Then, once you have truly understood your own beliefs, start spouting your bullshit so that people can actually learn from you instead of just being insulted by your weak arguments and ad hominems. Also, it's you're*, moron.
