Just one of the most beautiful songs of all time! Viola Wills, her voice and music inspired me with my singing and songwriting and, my daughter and I had the pleasure and privilege of meeting her in Manchester where my daughter actually had the honor of singing with her while she was in rehearsal! Beautiful memories of a beautiful lady! Such a blessings beyond words. RIP Viola!!

I absolutely agree with you. I bought more records during 1986 than in any other year, the music back then was phenomenal especially the soul dance and hip hop tunes. This song reminds me of slow dances at night clubs. Happy memories. 😊

Yes Kay!! This tune was being played lots of places in my teens; from soul clubs like Nutmegs in Hampstead and Harrow. I even heard it at reggae clubs like Bouncing Ball and All Nations. It just had that sublime combination of bass, rhythm, and harmony that could appeal to many people. A tune like this would resonate in you for hours afterwards, and even years after it was last heard . You may like to refresh your memory with Walk in The Night also. Another fab' 70s era tune. 👍🏽🤗💖💕😊

I can't help but point out the similarity to "Juicy Fruit" by Mtume. The odd thing is that I was a DJ here in NYC when this song came out & I didn't hear of it until about 3 1/2 years ago. I discovered this song while my mother was sick & it drew me in. Instead of reminiscing about the 80s, I reminisce about this song because I discovered it around the time that I was running back & forth to see her at the hospital, with her passing on June 30th of that year. I always associated her with EuroDisco or Hi Energy music, which isn't my thing, but, this is a beautiful song & I'm glad to have discovered it, albeit 30 years after the fact.

Hey Thank you Will, I remember Paul Phillips going into the studio, Re-recording this with Viola in London would believe. The Piano at the beginning of the song was originally in the middle of the song, a little play along riff by Tee Morris, then Paul done his magic started the track with the piano, nice build up by Hi Tension Percussionists Leroy Williams, and Linn Drum Programming by Lloyd Phillips. Paul said it was a production for streetwave records but because of contractual reason he was only credited with a remix. We give credit to Paul as one of the Uk Best unknown Producers at the time

I hate/love this tune. As a teenage reggae man, me and my boys would visit soul clubs, cos the girls were supposed to be gorgeous. But we had stiff competition: Those soul boys could really get down- all elegant-to this tune in their tight pants and really pointy shoes, whilst we reggae boys felt like we had led boots on. So I got mixed feelings of this beautiful song. 😂🤣🕺🏾🕴🏾🤨
