Violence Erupts in Manipur's Jiribam District Following Discovery of Meitei Resident's Body

Manipur Violence: Tensions escalated in Manipur's Jiribam district after the body of Meitei resident Soibam Sarathkumar Singh was found on June 7. In response, mobs set fire to 3-4 abandoned houses belonging to Kuki families and surrounded a police station. The administration has imposed Section 144 of the CrPC to curb further violence.

Jiribam Conflict (battle for Jiribam) : One meitei man was found dead and then as a result , the meitei armed groups started launching an attack on the Zo/Kuki villages in the region .They burnt down as many as around 47 houses despite of the fact that nobody knows who killed the guy. They(Meiteis) simply poured the blame on the Tribals(Zo/Hmar) followed by the burning down of many homes of the Zo/Hmar people. Now, their(Imphal)only way of transportation/communication with the outside world is just the Imphal Airport . The Districts of Tamenlong, Nano , Ukhrul , Senapati are wholly dominated by the Nagas and the region is where the Imphal - Dimapur road runs through. Finally,the Meitei people will have to pay an ultimate price due to their cruelty nature. It is important to note that I am not blaming the Meitei people as a whole.There are many good fellows within the Meitei Community but, it is the violent & cruelty nature of the BAD , the Good eventually suffering the same consequence.
