Stalins genocide in Ukraine is on the scale of Hitler's holocaust. Stalin cooperated extensively with Hitler, they were likeminded people and they ran their countries similarly. NKVD tought the SS how to efficiently do executions and torture and Stalin and Hitler agreed to divide up Poland between them. Stalin had orphans shot because they were an embarrassment begging on the streets. At its worst there were killings by quota; they did not even bother to establish guilt (for some definition of guilt), they just had random people taken away and shot. As many as 12 000 per day died for starvation and exposure to the elements at the slave camps in Sibera and elsewhere.

Every person who I asked about the flag representing slavery said "It's our heritage, not hate". So if I fly a Nazi flag because I have German origins in my family tree, it's okay? How about a Soviet flag? It is JUST history, after all. The U.S. Civil War was such a brief period of time, the ideology of the confederacy should have died when the war ended. It now represents a backwards view of the world. One that upholds the absurd idea that one group of persons should be subservient slaves to another simply because of their color. At least that's what comes to mind when I see the flag. I don't see heritage, I see what ideologies like that cause. When I see idiots fly the Soviet flag, I think Stalin and Mao and the deaths of millions they caused. Those who fly the Soviet flag in Ukraine are IDIOTS.

***** May be making a fine point, but it's not accurate to describe Stalin's crimes as "genocidal." I know using that word makes it sound more impressive, but it's just not correct. Anyhow, many people in that part of the world see Stalin as the person who succeeded in leading them, or their recent ancestors, in their struggle against Hitler. Now Hitler DID have actual genocidal intentions in regard to them, and others, and went quite far toward realizing them. Given this, their softer attitude toward Stalin is somewhat understandable.
@MarcianusImperator10 жыл бұрын
JuanDeSoCal You a correct. Hitler commited genocide because he killed mainly jews, Stalin didn't commit genocide because he killed everybody. Good guy Stalin, saying "NO" to discrimination. @JuanDeSoCal10 жыл бұрын
MarcianusImperator A lot of people go around, parrot-like, repeating the meme "Stalin killed more people than Hitler" as you just have. But, very few really bother looking into it. I actually did research it some time ago, and although the records are somewhat murky, I reached the conclusion that it is probably not true. Which is not to say Stalin didn't kill a lot of people. He did, and they were primarily those he viewed as his political enemies. The figures were later exaggerated, sometimes to preposterous levels, during the Cold War. This was for general anti-Soviet propaganda purposes, and as a broader effort on the political right to smear the left. It got to the point where figures like 80 million were being thrown out, basically blaming Stalin for every death that occurred for any reason whatsoever during almost the the entire Soviet period. It just goes to show how most people can't be bothered to think for themselves.

Japanese civilians would have also been killed because they were also on the verge of fighting with their military. Numerous official sources agree with my claim. Germany was not necessarily saved by the USSR. The four leaders all agreed that Germany would be split into four zones controlled by the respective countries. Lets not also forget the Berlin Blockade by the USSR to seize control of the Allied side of Berlin and the ensuing Berlin Airlift by the Allies to get the Berliners the supplies and food that they needed. The US did NOT try to occupy North Korea, they were merely trying to end the war. After all it was the Soviet backed North Koreans that pushed South Korean forces all the way to Busan in the southern tip of South Korea in the first place. The reason why China stepped in was to protect their own interests since North Korean and Allied forces were getting dangerously close to Chinese territory.

What people tend to forget is the people will believe what they want to believe, even denying the truth that is always present around them. I'm from the States, so I have to rely on reports like these (I greatly wish I was more informed). Back on to my prior statement; either Russian or Ukrainian, people will fight for what the want, and don't like to be tread upon (so to speak). Whether or not the freedom fighters (as some would liked to called) are terrorists, or heroes and martyrs is hard to say. It's all based upon perspective, per individual. On one hand though, I do feel bad for the firefighters having to put out of these fires.

For 8 years the people of Mariupol suffered under the tyranny of the neo-Nazi Azov Battalion... At the beginning of this year (2022), the truth was fully revealed - according to the testimonies of the city's residents, it was Azov who destroyed their city, hiding heavy military equipment near their houses, occupying the highest floors where they had shooting ranges, shooting (and killing) people who went in search of food, water, or tried to leave the town, setting fire to their houses, raping women, kidnapping people who were tortured in the camp at the airport (many of them are missing), looting apartments, shops... People thank the Russians for finally coming to liberate them, they give them humanitarian aid. But... You will never hear this in the mainstream media of the West.

How idiotic must you be to genuinely believe that that is what happened? You think that Mariupol was razed to the ground by the army trying to DEFEND it? Because Putin can organize a few interviews with a few dozen scared and desperate people, and have a few hired propagandists spread the news?

Believing the idiotic propaganda of an invading dictator... You really think that half a million people on Mariupol has been there since 2014 wanting their city razed to the ground, and to be "saved" by some Kadyrovite fighter? because you saw a few dozen people say that?

Tu-160 is a supersonic strategic bomber. It flying so fast and so high that the romanian and ukrainian jet fighters and interceptors can't catch up with it. For 8 years the conflict smoldered and now it's a full fledged war. You know what president Bush said in 1991 in his speech in Kiev? "Americans will not support those who seek independence in order to replace a far-off tyranny with a local despotism. They will not aid those who promote a suicidal nationalism based upon ethnic hatred." The Ukrainian nationalists did not like it when Bush said that. But later other people took over and supported those nationalists. Nuland said the US spend 5 billion $US in Ukraine. 5 billion to reshape the political landscape, culminating in the coup on the Maidan, civil war and now a real war.
