I'm glad that you have found my videos informative! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch them. As you've seen, we like to get close, but not too close. Always respect nature is our motto and we put safety first.

@extremeweatherfilms Thank you! Glad you enjoyed. And yes, I was using a small HDV cam mounted to my windshield for the in the car shots. I'm a stickler for steady video, lol. I try to use my tripod as much as possible when outside the vehicle, but there are times where you have to shoot hand held. And I love 16:9 too! Thanks again for watching and commenting

@STICKGUYMB That was the wall cloud so there would be minimal precipitation in that area, but what you could have driven right into would have been a tornado. Definitely not an area you want to drive under that's for sure. Thanks for watching!

Thx for posting, beautiful structure. As always, very professionally filmed -- even in your vehicle, your footage is steady (looks tripoded). Looks liked it was filmed in 16:9 -- can't beat that panoramic effect !! Very cool !!!

Nope, that was a very large wall cloud with a ton of inflow dust getting pulled into the updraft area. A very intense storm for sure! Thanks for watching!

@McSWTHART Hi! And thanks for watching my video :) A supercell storm is defined as a single cell storm (one dominate updraft, and one dominant downdraft) that has a persistant, rotating updraft. Only about 25% of all supercells produce tornadoes.

Great storm footage. I was in Kansas on this day and saw a brief tornado in Cimmaron. I got greedy and missed filming it because I was trying to get closer. It fizzled as I was finally getting to the spot I wanted to film it from. Another storm formed and cut the inflow off of the one I was on.

@lelsieldeleon37 Supercells can occur anywhere in the world. They are more common in places like the mid west USA, but they can and do occur anywhere as long as the conditions are there.

Lucky to be in a prime position like that. A dust bowl somewhere back and the inflow coming from it so you can actually see dust getting sucked into it!

There are several great chase tour companies that while are a bit expensive, will give you two weeks on the road and you'll get to see some incredible storms. Cloud 9 Tours is the best in my opinion
@ScottMcPartlandNYC12 жыл бұрын
Wait, I'm confused lol. Not a violent supercell thunderstorm?? This was a classic violent supercell thunderstorm. This storm was putting out baseball hail (which we managed to avoid but several friends got caught in it. It had screaming inflow, a huge wall cloud, and did produce a tornado, albeit short lived. It had the classic flying eagle shape to it as well on radar.
@bengorski6069 Жыл бұрын
This is the exact day I was born. My mom told me when I got older that during my birth there had been a tornado warning. This may have been it.

Hi, a few years back when I was 8 or 9 I was camping and I got caught in what I think was either a microburst or a supercell in Algonquin Park. I was wondering which you would think it would have been. Trees fell everywhere around us, crisscrossing our campsite, it was a hugely powerful storm and very dangerous. We found a huge circle in the forest where all the trees had been pushed outwards from the center. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks!
