I was 15 when the storm him and I was in D'Iberville, just north of the back bay (other side of the bay from Gulfport). it was utterly terrifying. I've been back once since we moved away. straight PTSD. I couldn't sleep the whole week I was there. I try to desensitize myself by watching stuff like this, and honestly, it's kinda working. Thanks for the video.

Thank you for retelling your story. This storm was terrifying for somebody who was there firsthand of any age, much less somebody who was only 15 at the time. I can totally understand the emotions you went through not only during the storm, but when you went back to visit. I'm glad that the video has helped you a bit, I used to be absolutely terrified of thunderstorms when I was a small child, so I kind of did the same thing you did and go straight into learning about them and it really did help. Literally to the point that I now Chase storms lol. Take care and thanks again for sharing.

I love those waves of rain scudding across just above the ground. So pretty. One of my favorite things to watch in a storm. That is a lot of water all at once. Im glad the site has that nice overhang for people to get out of the rain under. Watching rain in the streetlights never gets old. It's mesmerizing.

I was 3 when this had happen and my dad told me a small story about it. Basically he was coming home from work and he needed to get food for me my mother and my brother at the time since the meat and food we had was rotting, he asked for some food but they said their was a limited amount. He begged for them letting them know he had two little ones at home [me being a baby and my brother 4 at the time] since they knew my dad p well they told him to give a moment as they saved a box for him <3 I thank that man and my father to make sure we ate that day <3

The 2024 hurricane season is still at least a month away, but it's supposed to be extremely active, with multiple hits on the USA. We shall see. One or two massive storms hitting Florida will be an economic catastrophe, particularly for the insurance industry.
@ScottMcPartlandNYC
@ScottMcPartlandNYC 3 ай бұрын
Early forecasts definitely point to a very active season ahead, whether or not any of those storms make their way to the US remains to be seen, but the more storms that roam the atlantic, obviously the higher chance one of them will make landfall. Should be interesting months ahead.
