I remember when this went out on radio 1, what a moment! Makes the original seem like a chilled out cover. The mashup mix they did was INCREDIBLE and not long after that I went to see them live with chase & status. This still stands as one of my all time favourite tracks and they’ve never “officially” released it.

I think Violet Hill has to be Coldplay's heaviest song and one of my faves of theirs. Wish they did more stuff like that, but after Viva la Vida (album) they really just pandered to the pop crowd in a very unimpressive mediocre way. And I enjoyed their first 4 albums a lot tbh. What a shame

That's a matter of opinion, also you might have a bias if you're not a fan of the genre of music that Coldplay does. Coldplay and Pendulum are two very different bands, and this remix is simply Pendulum adding their own flavour to a song from a very different band. Put simply, just as you might think this is the superior version, someone who favours Coldplays more Indie Rock sounds over the Drum & Bass/Hard Rock sounds of Pendulum might consider the Coldplay version to be superior.

I know this is an old comment, but ever since Kodish joined the band (which was before In Silico), almost every single song of them has been recorded and performed with real drums. Btw, Pendulum is not purely DnB and this song isn't either. They do add a flavor of it, but overall, they pretty much just do different kinds of Rock and Metal music with a DnB structure.
