To all the naysayers, I upgraded my skincare routine to test whether an intensive regime would make any difference to my 40 year old complexion which had acne scars, enlarged pores, broken capillaries, uneven tone, melasma. I did MONTHS of research and included every ingredient scientific research says can address these issues including all vitamins A-E, peptides, ceramides, retinoids, stem cells, hyaluronic acid..I could go on, suffice it to say it is a 20 step routine. After 3 months, I literally have a new skin that looks airbrushed. Say what you will, but for me the proof is in the pudding. It's not about the cost of products - some of mine are not expensive. It's about doing the research of the ingredients that make a difference and creating a regime you consistently use. My skin has reverse aged by a decade and I have never looked better.

Until the past 8 months, I would have been just another one of these people in the comments section going off about how she uses "too many products" or that the multiple-step routine is "overrated," but after adopting the method and slowly introducing the steps, my skin is dramatically different and improved in every aspect. Besides, not all of these steps have to be done every day. Some are only done once or twice a week. People are so quick to knock something they haven't tried.
@soffiegirl10277 жыл бұрын
Jessica Pitchford exactly. People want to go on and on about "well must be nice when you have perfect skin" ...literally this is the how and why to that result. Skincare is everything but it's one that is so easily overlooked

This is 5 months later and you probably don't care - but my skin has cleared totally up after I started my routine and maybe it'll help someone... I used to have dry acne skin, now it's normal with a little shine in the t-zone... aaaand pimple free! In the morning, I wash my face with "amy purifying facial wash" and embryolisse moisturizer, then I apply sunscreen. In the evening, I use "zo skin health exfoliating cleanser, normal to oily skin" and embryolisse moisturizer. I exfoliate 1-2 a week. I'm about to start using bio oil for acne scars.
@helenab99736 жыл бұрын
For me it was quite the opposite, my skin improved a lot since I ditched many products and stuck to the essentials. I used to have pimples , but now my skin rebalanced itself . Diet is also important , but even before I tried smoothies, detox and stuff and still had skin problems. Now I don't even use fondation, and use only 3 products in morning and evening. My routine is very fast and that's a relief.
@Heythere80087 жыл бұрын
I don't understand the people in the comments SAYING how she uses too many products, she doesn't need all those products, and how she's wasting her money when uses all her products in one night...So on, but this is her job she once said in a video that her skincare is so important to her because when she's putting on makeup she doesn't put on foundation because her skin is her foundation, many of us need to make our skin our foundation, she puts these products on because she's putting good things into her skin, when we eat healthily we don't just eat right for one day and expect to wake up the next morning with a perfect body, right? Then why should we slack on our skincare routine and expect to have amazing skin? and why do we think she's doing too much? To me, she is doing just the right amount (And I want to get to her level of my skincare) she is really taking the time to put good things in her skin, really moisturizing, cleansing, toning, massaging, etc. these great products into her skin and that is why she and many other women look so flawless . We need to start spending money and time on our skin, ladies, and gents. In 40 years I'm sure we are going to look on this lady and how she aged and then look at ourselves and say "Wow, I really should have taken care of skin while I was young!"
7 жыл бұрын
Christineena Yeah, exactly what I think! I can't understand what's going on with these people, can't stop complaining about their skin but gets so angry to see a woman so pretty taking care of her skin. Stop it!
@Heythere80087 жыл бұрын
I agree with what you're saying that having "good" skin comes with eating healthy, mental health, staying hydrated, and etc. But our skin LACKS nutrients, vitamins, pigmentation for some, etc. and we need GOOD products to build back out skin from years of damage, killing bacteria, sun damage that might now be visible, of course, pimples/acne, etc. I don't think if you don't have pimples/acne you shouldn't be using products on your skin because your skin might be lacking somewhere else, for example, your pimple-free face might need vitamin C for collagen, collagen maintenance, from free radicals, so much more things also. I think every product she uses has a part to play in her skin care and yes we might be looking at her skin like 'OH MY GOSH she has perfect skin why are putting on and taking off this much product?' Well, she might have great skin now but when she gets older how will her skin look? Why can't we just watch someone prep/take care of their skin without having to say 'Oh you just need to eat right! Those products will not do anything because it's all in your diet.' when that might not be the case. Also, having a healthy diet, drinking water, staying out of the sun, etc. will help your skin but you DO need products and a routine to keep your skin lasting (glowy, youthful, radiant, little to no blemishes, etc.)
@nomado36507 жыл бұрын
It's the wrong message she delivers - use 100 products - two masks one after another, really? - including a few VERY expensive brands and your skin will look like mine. No, it won't. It's nice to see that people understand that. It's not about jealousy, it's about our understanding what is the message of every particular video we watch.
@Heythere80087 жыл бұрын
Is it not a wrong message? She's not using 100 products and she is NOT telling us to use these VERY expensive products to have skin like hers. Because she knows EVERYONE's skin is different and she is just sharing with us what she uses on her skin daily/weekly. If she was using drugstore skin care products no one would be talking about the number of products she is using but since it's expensive NON DRUGSTORE products everyone has something to say. There really is no message to this video, it's a woman simply sharing what she uses on her skin almost like a review video for loved products.
7 жыл бұрын
Christineena I agree, people should stop acting like if they were doctors. No one knows what are her necessities to judge if she's doing well her skin care or not, so what we all should be doing is to accept this and take care of our skins as well. you don't have to use all of these expensive products but it's good to have one or two that work for you. You should try African bar soap as a cleanser and use apple cider vinegar (diluted in water if you have sensitive skin like I do) as a chemical facial 3 times a week. These two are under $5 and work amazing for extremely sensitive skin and acne (I had every kind of acne)

I really enjoy your videos/mini films but I have to make a small correction. The La Mer "The Mist" does not kill bacteria, it rebalances the skin. The concentrate is to heal/nourish the skin. I have used some La Mer products for years. It was developed by a scientist who was trying to help burn victims. Yes, we have to keep our skin clean but we also need some bacteria/microbes to live on the flesh for our health. P.S.- never rub your skin that hard with a towel, just lightly pat the water off. Rubbing tears the skin.

30 seconds in this edited video, more on the real life time. During those time the water being wasted, imagine how many glasses can be filled with it? You do realize there are people who wish they can drink clean water right? Not saying that if those water were not being wasted they can go directly to the people in need, but it still is an act to show awareness to the environment because when the water hits the ground it needs a whole lot of process to make that water clean again. So think a bigger picture.

OMG most of these comments are so negative. First, learn to read the description and you’ll see the masks are used once per week and other items every other night, and some products as needed. So this is not what she does every night and it’s clearly stated. Second, this isn’t a promotional video for these products as Violet Grey does not even sell Biologique Recherche or half the other products she uses. It is just an interview about her skincare routine which most people tend to show their “maximum” routine since they are being asked about skincare because treatments are an important part of skincare, even if they aren’t used daily. The description notes that and I’m sure the product instructions state how frequently they should be used. I don’t get the negativity. It’s basically her job to have good skin.

Some tips. From an aesthetician. She shouldn't use tap water. You create a barrier on the skin when you apply water first and then cleanser. Always cleanser on dry skin. Never rub your face with a towel. First of all its rough, always be gentle and Pat the skin dry. Also, a towel is bad because it can carry bacteria. Dry your face with paper towels. Then, she is applying all the biologique products incorrectly. You apply p50 in upwards motions. And the fluide vip02 is a finishing serum OVER your cream not under. Other than that, she did fine. Not too many products but no, biologique recherche is not for sale at violet grey and won't be.
@ezzwilson7707 жыл бұрын
Paper towels have wood pulp in them, which can be too abrasive for skin and create small tears. Also, they often have chlorine and formaldehyde, which isn't doing the skin any favors either. Our skin constantly has good and bad bacteria on it, so as long as you aren't using a dirty towel (should only be used a few times), it should be fine.

If anyone's curious, the products used in this video total $1200 AUD.

Expensive brands are often a waste of money when we just need a skincare SYSTEM: remove, cleanse, tone, hydrate/treat & moisturize....also SPF!!! Use Micellar Water or pure Jojoba Oil to soften your makeup, massage (no pulling or tugging) & rinse. Cleanse AGAIN w Jojoba Oil & gently wipe off w a soft microfiber cloth or use a Cerave or Cetaphil cleanser. Balance your PH w a toner like Witch Hazel. Now, it's time for the magic --- a nutrient packed hydrating serum w Hyaluronic Acid + exfoliators like Vitamin C or AHAs or Retinol depending on your age & skin issues. Seal in the serum's hydration + vitamins, acids & peptides with a tiny bit of unrefined Shea Butter (warm in hands & PAT, PAT, PAT into your face -- skin should feel tacky right after application but if you're greasy, you've used too much). Cerave also makes a great moisturizer to prevent the loss of moisture. I have Lupus & chemicals are a leading cause of autoimmune disease so I stay away from fragranced products & opt for natural brands like Eva Naturals on Amazon which are surprisingly affordable and offer every serum you will ever need. I don't waste my money on makeup wipes that encourage pulling & tugging, expensive removers, cleansers or moisturizers. Put your money into serums & treatments!! Good luck to all!

If I use all these products for nighttime routine my skin will breakout the next morning my skin seriously cannot stand too much product idk why

Miss Валентинка Same. I even tried the Korean method, but my skin really, really hates layering, and prefers minimalism and simplicity. The more products I use - the worse my skin looks. Maybe it's a good thing though, we can invest in a few really good quality products, instead of ten.
