As much as I love Rob, its clear a lot more time and work went into Ray's version and I think it pays off. Rob's was fantastic with the time and little to no context he was given, but Ray's is truly phenomenal.

That feels like a heavy lift for anyone and Rob did great, especially consider how open the song feels. I remember first hearing it and knocked over by how economical Ray was at the start and the how glorious and soaring it was in almost direct opposition of what we're seeing on screen. Other storytellers or musicisians might have stepped on that moment with something bigger instead these strings that almost pleading for the vents on screen to stop.

@twosetviolin would LOVE to see you guys do this! Especially for each to listen separately and do their parts and see how they sound compared. First song in arcane season 2 is gorgeous to do if you haven't seen it! Back to this: first time seeing this for violin. I usually watch the drumeo ones and one piano (John Batiste). Violin is perfect for this as well... allows us to see/hear the musicianship and individuality or thr person shine through and also what is in common with the original because it musically "makes sense" :)

@carolinehaf21Ай бұрын
How can he match a scene he's not watching? He can only go by what he's hearing and there's definitely a cinematic feel and a build up and a foreboding tone to the song... also Ray would have seen the scene so he knows where the visuals are happening, when the rocket is fired etc... and when there is no dialogue and the music is centre stage.
