No, you will keep it tuned. Only the bow needs to be loosened after practice. You can wipe the violin with a clean cloth to remove the rosin after practice on your violin.

Julia can I ask you to play a piece that I know you likely do know but probably not in the key I would like to ask you to play in. It is a lovely relaxing piece the meditation from thais by massenet but in G major not D starting in 1st position. It is an easier version of it.

Hallo Sonja, Danke schön für dein liebes Kommentar! Es ist möglich ohne Lehrer Geige spielen zu lernen, aber es ist schwieriger. Lehrer haben oft ein Didaktisches Plan und können dir Feedback geben, wenn du eine Technik nicht richtig ausführst. Es muss aber nicht unbedingt Privatunterricht sein. Auf meinen online Geigenschule bekommst du auch feedback auf deine Technik & Spiel von & bekommst du ein Lehrplan mit Videos & Blattmusik. It would be better if you played that on the viola. I know the instrument is tuned differently but any one who plays the violin can pick it up in no time.
