Viomi V2 Mopping Test

The Viomi V2 (also known as Xiaomi Viomi Cleaning Robot V-RVCLM21B) is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop. In this test, we wanted to check how it performs as a mop. We spilled yogurt and waited until it dries. The Viomi was not able to remove the stains after the first pass, but after the second pass, all the stains have been completely removed. In the second test, we sent the Viomi V2 to clean the stains made from spilled and dried cola with cacao. It handled this task easily from the first cycle.

Check out Viomi v2 pro. it can mop and vacuum same time or independent it have 3 tanks 1 for mop 2 for sweep 3- 2 in 1 water and dust box together. it support multi floors it have most options on roborock s6 plus water control through the app and Y mopping like iRobot Braava 380t . the app working good on Mi home now +new firmware update 3 days ago

I m v disappointed. The water tank almost after 10 use i have to buy a new tank cos the water wont come out. The serviceman said its bcos it rust i side. Goodness!!! I m so pissed off with this!!

Unfortunately, you can't schedule it to work on certain days, you can set it up only for everyday cleaning. It works with the Mi Home app.

Does the V2 have any issues with dark carpets? I know Roborock S6 doesn't climb or vacuum dark carpets (from experience) because of the cliff sensors.

Yes, unfortunately, the Roborock S6 has trouble with dark floors. Don't know about the Viomi V2, I don't have dark carpets so didn't test it. Most likely it will not work on dark carpets since it uses the same infrared cliff sensors.

@@SmartRobotReviews I actually went ahead and bought a V2 Pro and tested on the same carpets that Roborock S6 wouldn't climb on. To my suprise, Viomi V2 Pro didn't have any issues with them and worked great on the same carpets. Not sure if that's universally available for any dark carpet, but at least in my case V2 Pro worked .

In the newest update can't you set the amount of water used on mopping? and how about the power of vacuum? in the previous firmware you could choose from 3 different settings in both vacuum and mop

Yes, you can adjust the amount of water in the updated app, as you said, there are three mopping and suction modes. It has a decent suction power, but for some reason, it performs worse on carpet than other robot vacuums in this price range. I've made a few tests on a middle-pile carpet with sand, and the Viomi was able to pick up much less sand than other robot vacuums I have tested (360 S5, S6, S7, and Roborock S5, S6).

Is it working with magnetic tapes for virtual walls or is it only in app?

There are no magnetic types in the box, and it seems like they are not supported since I was not able to find them on sale anywhere. Why would you choose the magnetic types instead of the virtual barriers in the app? As for me, it's more convenient to draw no-go zones on the map.

The robot just works as scheduled and i only change the dust bin. The app isn't 100% reliable for virtual walls ( 120 square meters of cleaning surface ).

The manufacturer doesn't recommend to add any detergent to the water tank, but I know that some users add some cleaning solution and it works without any issues.

I don't have carpets so I almost always use my robot with mopping attachments on so it vacuums and mops at the same time, but I don't remember whether this model can do this since it's not available anymore.

I don't know any manufacturer that would allow it but as long as I know the worst thing that can happen - clogged water filters. They come in the box so you can replace them. You can also spill some detergent directly to the floor which I normally do when mop.

@@just4therecord No it does not have it in the box. In fact, I can't see where they are located. You can disassemble the water tank and clean it if something bad happens. So far there is no water filter replacement to buy for the Viomi V2 though so it might not be the best to buy if you want to use detergent. The Roborock filters are easy to replace but it is not as efficient at mopping as the Viomi.

This looks really good. You say at the end “one of the best” combined cleaning and mopping robots. I’m wondering what beats it because the mopping looks really good. I like that it has that “real” backwards and forwards y-shaped pattern like a real person uses, and like the dedicated iRobot m6 mop has, but of course the v2 pro can vacuum at the same time. Also it has an edge-to-edge mopping pad whereas the Roborock s5 Max pad doesn’t go all the way to the edges so it is never going to mop the very edge of the room. And looking at this video the v2 pro seems to be laying down the water very nice and evenly. I just don’t see what other robot even matches this one let alone beats it if you want to mop and vacuum at the same time. Please let me know if there are other robots I should be considering because right now I’m pretty much ready to click the buy button on this one - well, the v2 pro actually which I think is pretty much the same but with a third tank that is combined dust and water tanks.

Thanks for your comment. Even though the Viomi V2 has an edge-to-edge mopping pad and Y-shaped pattern, I would recommend the Roborock S5 Max. Roborock has much better customer support, large community, more reliable product, and regularly update their app and the robot's firmware.

Thanks for your questions! 1. Sure, it should work on the tile, but it will not be able to clean the gaps between the tiles. 2. Do not expect the same cleaning quality as manual mopping. The robot basically just drags a wet cloth around your floors. It can remove some fresh stains, but can't do anything with stubborn stains. But it's a great addition considering that you can mop your floors manually not as often. 3. Yes, there should be enough water for cleaning an 1000 sq. m house without refilling the water tank. 4. I sold the robot so hard to say. I have read a few comments that the water tank stopped working after a few months of usage but not sure how common is this problem.

Sorry, I've sold my robot, so don't remember what type of sensor the robot uses to recognize the mopping pad and where the sensor is located. Probably something wrong with the sensor.

Hello, as far as I remember, there should be "Mop mode" in the app settings where you can switch between Y and S mopping pattern.

The robot on this video is definitely the Viomi V2 (not a Pro version) and it supported the Y-shaped mopping, at least at the moment when I created this video. Unfortunately, I sold my robot vacuum so can't check if it works right now. I was not able to find what are the differences between these models. So what are the differences? And why you decided that this is not the Viomi V2? I got it from Gearbest as the Viomi V2, but right now, Gearbest has only the Pro version since the Viomi V2 is sold out.

@@SmartRobotReviews Comparison table below. It has 3 tanks in the box: 1 - mop 2 - sweep, 3 - both 2 in 1. In standard non-pro version there is no 2in1 tank in the set. Additionally it has different algorithm for mopping and more options in the app. Sometimes there is no "PRO" label on the box. But being honest - in my opinion Viomi company totally lost control over these two version. Some units doesn't pair with Mi Home, only with Viomi app. Some the other way. I think both models are the same and they initially tried to differentiate these models with app possibilities. i bought one and regretted. too many issues. xiaomi prematurely launched this product without fixing lots of issues. does not charge fully. does not have voice announcement when it gets stuck and it gets stuck 10 times more that the first generation. there are hardly any voice announcements and sometimes no voice. virtual wall is a joke and the new update has no virtual wall. u dont have the option to use magnetic tape too. very disappointed with this cleaner and we are calling It "ben mi" or stupid mi.... the dumbest xiaomi cleaner ever!

I don't have any issues with charging, but I agree that it gets stuck or confused more often than other lidar-based robot vacuums I have tested. I think that this is a bug in navigation algorithms that will be fixed in future firmware updates. The new firmware was released recently, but I didn't test it yet. Regarding virtual walls, you can find this feature in the "Map" menu.

Yet another week without a patch for the hideous bugs that slipped through on the V2 Pro 4 months ago. I've been a huge Xiaomi supporter. Now I discourage everyone from buying Xiaomi products. With such poor development support, anything that you buy, can be broken by incompetent developers shortly thereafter.
