Ok I looked it up, V.I.P. apparently stands for Vallery Irons Protection. Vallery Irons is the protagonist of the show. She is literally hired by a company named after herself to become its figurehead. That's Vehemently, Incidentally Painful.

Seeing the "hacking" mini games just reminds me that Pony Island, a game where a medieval crusader fights Satan via a video game with flying ponies (it's complicated) had a hacking minigame that actually felt like hacking (you have a string of operations and blocks that let you detour the cursor, which you have to place so that the code's output respects certain conditions).

If nothing else, even with all the jaggies the PS1 had, at least the VIP chicks still look halfway presentable. It's almost like that is where the programmers spent the most effort on this game's graphics was making sure Pam and company were looking as good as they could even with all that pixelation. I believe that the QTE would've been better if executed like this: You play through the stages as different characters, each one with their own styles. The main protagonist (the first character)'s style is reminiscent of kung-fu mixed with stealth. And that other character with the gun would obviously be a shoot-em-up style. Quick Time Events for the first character would be within cutscenes and during stealth-focused missions. With a single button for some. Or more realistic button combinations to mimic something like sneak attacking an enemy from behind. Like...She's crouching... And when a guard passes by, you could press left on the D-Pad or tilt the left Stick to the left then Up... And when you're near enough, Up and X button before going back to the gameplay. For the shoot-em-up, it would often happen at times where the character starts to approach more and more from where they're getting shot at. For there, hafta wait for the guns to stop shooting and then press left, right, up or down depending on where the next cover is. If she's almost getting shot at, a quick press of the Square button to dodge roll and take cover. Sure the game could've been way better, but leave it to our imagination!
