This does really well at 24" for any new grower or for veg but if you want more PAR you can just drop it 4-6". I prefer running my lights higher rather than lower but in summer time I will go as close as possible and dim to save on heat. Don't forget to use discount code JustinKS!

Solid light and great design Love that Viparspecta has always actually took the time to design a light ground up and not just slap a sticker on something and call it done.. Stoked they made the light physically bigger to cover more space with adequate ppfd. And hanging the driver is clutch. 500 watts in a 4x4 is nearly perfect for most home growers.

HLG Blackbird vs KS5000. Which one would you buy at $699 for a 4x4 and why?
@Justintime2grow2 жыл бұрын
The Blackbird is $764 after my discount code "Justintime2grow". The KS5000 is only $582 with my code "justinks" on the Vipar website. That's a large difference in price. This KS5000 is going to be hard to beat for the money.

So why is the bar style better I have a sf4000 and maxisun pro models and a one board viparspectra for clones/seedling all board style just wondering why everyone going to this bar style now is the light spread better then a board like the sf4000 only difference I seee is they allow the driver outside tent to reduce heat

This light just seems too low on the ppfd. Seems common on bar lights. You're floating around 40dli at 600ppfd. I'm not seeing the canopy penetration capability of this light as opposed to even my HLG 550 rspec 32" above the canopy at 70%
@Justintime2grow2 жыл бұрын
That's because your 550 is a spotlight. You can't really compare the two and honestly say the 550 is better at overall coverage in a 4x4. Boards are made to run higher than bar lights so they can actually get a decent footprint. You can run this 12" off the canopy if you wanted to and it would still provide the same footprint.
