Vipassana Meditation

8 жыл бұрын

This meditation video was developed by a group of meditation teachers who teach meditation in the Plum Village and Insight Meditation traditions. It's is a silent Vipassanā meditation, 30 minutes long, with bell ringing every five minutes, and instructions on the screen. This video can help you develop and cultivate a daily meditation practice.
If you meditate every day - you're invited to use this video every day with your meditation. If you don't meditate every day - you are invited to use this video every time you meditate. Perhaps it can help to experience the benefits of developing a regular meditation practice.
If you don’t know how to meditate, or for a guided Vipassanā meditation (with voice instructions) - click this link [ • Vipassanā Meditation: ... ]
Subscribe to the channel to find it easily next time, and share it with your friends and family.
When the bell rings it is a reminder to bring the mind back - to the body and the present moment. Breathing in - know you are breathing in. Breathing out - know you are breathing out. May you have a fruitful meditation.

I am 13 years old. I will be 14 in 2 months and will go to high school. I meditated between my homeworks during school time. It was only for 5 minutes. I am going to start doing this 30 minute vipassana from today. All the cmnts motivate me so i hope I will be consistent. Day 1 : I got a lot of thoughts in between and wanted my thoughts to take over and stop the meditation but still i completed it. I feel great when i can shift my thoughts and not think about something I don't want. I will definitely try to do this tomorrow. I am a maladaptive daydreamer so i want to get out of that. A beautiful soul recommended that meditation would help and that's why i am here 😊❤

@@ygpresent1324 Good morning from Oregon, USA! Yes, completely! I can't believe I have been meditating at least once a day for over a year. Now I find that I am drawn to my inner chambers most evenings as well. Choices, relationships, ideas are clearer and not convoluted. The way I want to be, live my life is more clear as well which makes it easier in a way. Easy is not the correct way of saying it but maybe simple? Simple. It's simple. I am remembering that life is simple and not to make it complicated. It is such a treat to be kind to myself and I am really enjoying it. Meditating has taught me to be kind to myself, be present even in the most mundane or hard times. It's a good thing.

24 years detesting, manipulating, and pushing away every single person around me, including myself. 24 years adoring, gratifying, giving, pleasing, and exalting every single person around me, including myself. 24 years of my past coming back to haunt me. 24 years of my future disturbing my peace. Until this. This seemingly random video on KZbin, This seemingly vacant production on a screen, It allows me to exist again. To be here, to live, to feel, everything that is here. Hows the daily practice going? What benefits if any?
@DJ-861
@DJ-861 3 жыл бұрын
@@suearis2336 Well.. I started directly with 30 minutes meditation and initially it was challenging to sit for more than 10 minutes.. after few days of regular practice I was able to sit for 30 minutes and I felt the thought traffic reduced. The other benefit was I was able to understand my mind as to what situations my mind starts to drift away from present moment.. what kind of stories it creates.. this helped in a big way to recognise and come back to the present moment.. however after 2 months of practice I noticed all old thought patterns started to surface I don't know why and it happened for the whole week couldn't understand what went wrong anyways after that it was just ok but I urge you to daily because I left in between and I started to do again this week and I see it is a challenge to sit for more than 10 to 15 mins. This needs life long practise as I feel mind is like a wave and how soon one reaps benefits depends on person to person as to how much emotional baggage they are carrying..their thought patterns etc. I hope this helps. Thanks.

Wrong. Vipassana is about gently stepping out of the war, not engaging with it. You’re not trying to “win a war” by doing Vipassana. If you go in with that mindset you’ll never make any progress.

@greg, you don't get into the state of absolute truth of the ultimate self without shedding your pain body which is accumulated in every human being, whether you accept it or not, to fight that you need to take on that, that is the war that i am mentioning, , infact the buddha understood these principles and vippasana is the best way of attaining this. You attain nothing if you don't fight the war within. The War mentioned is the will power, the breaking of the fear within

For so long I suffered from anxiety and I always thought my brain was the reason and I always asked y but not I realise that brain is not the only one at fault its u as well. Be positive people support ur brain through this tough time always remind him that you're there,and will go through this together. It's tough but positivity is one of the key factor even in the darkest times be postive look up and fight the moment and also be kind to ur self don't let anger, jealousy over come u love, compassion good thoughts are the food which helps ur mind and body rejuvenate. Always believe in good and see ur life change. This is just a guy out of a billion people speaking but I hope someone reads this and finds a way to have a happy and fulfilling life.

This was the first time I achieved a 30mn meditation. I started my first three time with 15mn long. I am very pleased with my progress considering I have been suffering severe fatigue syndrome with chronic pain from fibromyalgia for over a decade.... every joint and every muscle hurts. Also, my mind was all over the places from “I should have stretched first... but, no I should stretch straight away after the meditation because I am going to be so stiff ”, then to picking up the dry clean, to altering my son jacket for his formal picture later today @5pm.... to, “will I have enough time, first to shop for snacks for him and then get to him at college on time ?” ( one hour trip each way), then, “oh, don’t forget to get three birthday cakes for two friends and my husband tonight by 8pm.”, to “oh, the kids and grandkids are coming over on Sunday, but I don’t have the energy to cook and too achy to clean up after them! should I just order in? But, the kids want my cooking when they come.... ugh, I don’t know what to do ?!” All of those thoughts and more were bouncing in and out of my mind. Now, I was sitting by a french door in our bedroom facing out to our back yard where the morning sun showered my entire face and body ( felt very nice). And, the birds were chirping in the trees near by. I was so tempted to open my eyes to enjoy the view and look for the birds. I chose this location because I thought I would be away from any distractions, but evidently I thought wrong! The distractions were numerous, even our dog who follows me every where I go, has fallen asleep by my side. I thought he wouldn’t be making any noises while I meditate, but his snoring became louder and louder the entire time. He has managed to flatulate a couple of times filling up the air with his morning breakfast. Despite all of the distractions, the deep pain in my back ribs, the intense hips, knees, ankle and toes joints, and the carpel tunnel pressure pain progressively escalating in both arms/hands; I was able to bring myself back to my breathing and sat through 30 minutes without shifting ( maybe I was in too much pain to move, mentally) . I was extremely surprised for my ability to sit for 30mn. I shall resume tomorrow. Have a peaceful day and sending love to all. Bonna

Today was my time doing vipassana since I did my first course 2 years ago. I pushed myself very hard on that course and viewed it as a failure in many ways and have spent the last couple of years avoiding sitting meditation. Today was different, I have since learnt a lot about compassion and meditating this time I have been trying to let go of wanting to attain/achieve, and letting go of that trying as well! Being at peace with not being at peace and being kind to myself whilst meditating, was not something I was able to do (or even something I thought I should do) during the course but now I feel it's actually key. I'm going to try and make this more regular as I can really see how fantastic this technique is when used correctly.

I have been using this video since this spring or early summer. Before that I had been using a number of guided meditations for about a yr. I still am not clear what this meditation is or how it impacts me all I know is I rarely go without it. Since June only a couple of days. So thank u and I will continue

Been meditating on & off for a while but now I am going to do a serious practice for the next 3 months. ( 90 days) Day 1: Completed 30 minutes with minor discomfort during the meditation but overall feeling good. Day 2 : Completed 10 Minutes today :| but atleast i did it so im feeling ok will try more tomorrow Day 3: I skipped 2 days and thought of not doing it again im not sure why its so hard to just sit lol anyways i sat through 10 minutes and i am not gonna skip again :) Day 4 : 10 minutes ✅ Day 5 : ✅ Day 6 ✅ Day 7 : had a really long day and dint open youtube but forced nt self to sit for 2 minutes i know thats really short but thats better than nothing (excuses excuses ) Day 8 ✅ Day 9 ✅ I was not consistent enough and failed the 90 days challenge but starting again now Day 1 ✅

What you seek is also seeking you but to experience this you will have to train your mind to stay still. If two objects are running from each other the distance between them does not disappear but rather remains constant.

It is day 4 for me. I hope I will do it for a year at least because I wanna know how much difference it would make. I am practising meditation for a long time now but I have never tried 30 minutes and have not been consistant. I can say I am feeling super good and I am excited to see how I will feel in a week, a month and a year!!! Stay positive and do not give up 😊🌕🌈

simple but very potent, while practicing I sometimes feel dat I'm gonna loose myself (the Ego identity) & dat is the real part of the journey, that one has to overcome & surrender to it. May I complete this practice without inner-resentment😄 with trust. Salutations to The'greatBuddha & his methods 🎉🙏🏼

Only way which shows the path to understand self ,rest all teaches to understand God,,which is a doubtful one,whether it is there or not and if so then in which form,and also in all religion a different sects or groups are there..So this Buddha teaching and learning,teaching,training ones own self is very smart way for progress.
