Many things and changesbare going on in or body constantly. During our normal activities we don't notice them. But when we meditate, our mind become more conscious and we start noticing small small things, sensations and changes in our body. Yes it is 1 of them.

It will go away untill that just keep doing. Keep doing. I can tell you this for sure that you are in the right path but remember dont give up , dont over /under estimate any results you get out of this practice. What you have to do is keep concentration on your breath.....whatsoever....... You might see different typesof lights, pictures or you will feel very comfortable or very annoying thoughts . Please dont go after them. Just return to your main objective which this breath.... Can I do vipasanna or meditation after shower?
@gavithathabrew6 жыл бұрын
Yes you can do vipasanna anytime. After showering , waking up, or taking a break. If you practice enough of it, you'll be able to practice it in any situation without sitting in one location. You can practice it while walking, paying attention to how your feet lifts off the ground and touches the ground , standing or laying down on your bed by paying attention to your breath. I have typed further instructions on how to continue your practice. You basically start by paying attention to your breath. Pick a point either around your nose or anywhere you feel the breath touching your body on your respiratory tract. Pick one point and pay attention to that point on your body "where the breath touches". Soon enough you will realize that the "in breath" and the "out breath" has 3 points of 1) beginning "manifestation" , 2) middle "arising" and 3) end "disappearance".You will eventually notice that there are 1) beginning "manifestation" , 2) middle "arising" and 3) end "disappearance" to both the in breath and out breath combined as a whole as well. You just continue to use your breath as an object of meditation. But mental hindrances , thoughts, feelings, bodily and mental pains will arise in this process. What you have to do is not to participate and feed these thoughts/feelings/pains by attaching yourself to them, what you need to do is to watch them just as if you are watching the breath and you will realize that they have the same 3 points to them as well 1) Manifestation 2) Arising and 3) Disappearance. As you continue to meditate you will realize that everything which arises has to disappear and because of that you will have your first view "Insight" of impermanence .First of all you need to understand what are the "mental" hindrances, there are 5 mental hindrances; 1) Sense Desires, 2) Ill will, 3) Sloth and torpor , 4) Restlessness and Worry and 5) Skeptical doubt (In your practice of Meditation) . What you'll have to do when any sort of mental or physical hindrance manifests is to notice that it as manifested and arisen and then give your attention to it and be mindful of it without attaching yourself to it. You will notice that they will eventually disappear as well. The point of this meditation is to develop insight and concentration by ("being heedful") paying attention to the mental and physical objects without being attached to them just as you are paying attention to your breath without attaching yourself to the breath and watching it. Don't repeat any mantras or words to describe the things which arise in your mind or pain in your body. The fact that you already notice that you are feeling pain or seeing a thought is apart of your mindfulness and just be aware of it without attaching yourself to it just as you watch your breath. Then when that hindrance disappears bring your attention back to your breath and continue. Make sure to be never be upset at yourself when you aren't able to pay attention to your breath. When you lose focus just give attention to the thing which is asking for it and then slowly and softly bring the attention back to your breath. There is no judgement of anything in meditation.

@@gavithathabrew Hello, I have a question. I have been practicing meditation off and on for a few years, but over the last few months I have really been committing a good portion of time to meditation daily. I didn't realize it, but I'm pretty sure I have been practicing Vipassana, which is what led me here and to more research. I actually feel like I have been making good progress. I usually just try to focus on my breath, get relaxed, and then I try to focus on the moment, my breath, sounds, sensations, etc.. One time I was engaged in this to the point where I had very simple visual that seemed to be tied in with my breath and the wind. It felt like I was so immersed in the moment that I was in a flow state. Which makes me think that is one aspect to strive for when meditating -- reaching a flow state without doing anything. After being entranced for maybe 10-30 seconds my self-awareness kicked in and I essentially called myself out of the moment, thinking something like "Wow, what has just been happening, I feel like I was experiencing something special". So my ego pulled me out of the moment because I realized something was different. Is there something to be said about this experience? Or is there any tips or advice you can give to prevent yourself from reacting to that? I imagine just practice... It reminded me of becoming lucid in a dream, realizing in the middle of my dream "Wow, this is just a dream". This realization has also woken me up from dreams. If you have any advice to offer it would be greatly appreciated. I don't know any experienced meditators or even where to turn to for guidance. Thank you for your time!

. Please allow me to interrupt. I do research on how Buddhism disappeared in Bihar. I realized it never disappeared from Bihar. Buddhists simply failed to research Indian Buddhism. They looked at Buddhism through the sphere of their own cultures searching for only the Buddha. Buddha had a myriad of names in different villages according to his teachings there. Example. His favorite teaching was 'Lust and desire causes pain. Remove lust and desire, and pain is removed'. Translated into Bihari (where the Buddha story took place) it is DHUKH HARAN meaning to remove dukha. Three dozen villages pray to DUKH HARAN Baba. Its clear that DUKH HARAN Baba is none other than the Buddha. Problem is Buddhists are searching only for the Buddha. In the real Vaishali the Buddha begged for alms. The locals there pray to 'BHIKHAINI' Baba (Beggar Baba). Bhikhaini was mispronounced by Buddhists as Bhikshu. Who is BHIKHAINI Baba. The Buddha no doubt. But people are searching for a man called Buddha. In the real Vaishali, in Beluha the Buddha suffered a sickness and felt he had grown old. The locals pray to 'BURHA' Baba (Old Baba). Who is BURHA Baba. The Buddha no doubt. In the real Vaishali the Lichavies pressurized Buddha not to die. They trailed him to Bandagawan pressurizing him not to die. To put pressure in Hindi is DABESHWAR. Three dozen villages around the stupa where Buddha gave the Lichavies his patra, the villagers pray to Baba 'DABESHWAR NATH' meaning the man who won the pressurizing game. It was the the Buddha no doubt as he gave the Lichavies his patra and succeded in sending them back. But Buddhists are searching for the Buddha. In Pidhauli (Vaishali) the local deity is Bardiha Baba. Bardiha means the Baba who didn't allow us to stay where he was staying. Bardiha Baba is the Buddha no doubt because he didn't allow the crowd of Lichavies to stay with him in Bandagama. Forgive me for commenting out of the topic. I just wanted to impart this information to Buddhists.

What matters is how pure you are within and not your external appearance. The Buddha said this in his own words. I quoted it below from the Dhammapada. Usually when its cold outside or you need to wear something over or under your robes to protect yourself from heat/cold/ bugs , the Buddha said that is the only time we can wear other outer/inner garments to protect ourselves from the external environment. Other than that you are only allowed to keep 3 robes with you at all times. The Buddha extolled patience and loving kindness at all places even under provocation. As practitioners of Buddhism, you are allowed to ask any question and question anything of your liking and even question the Buddha himself and his teaching. We are supposed to question ,experiment and experience it for yourself and this is the only way to develop right concentration and mindfulness. We should reply with loving kindness and patience which is beneficial for the world and for yourself in the practice. Dhammapada Narada Page 130 Chapter 10 : Danda Vagga/ "The Rod or Punishment" Verse 14 Alankato ce'pi samam careyya Santo danto niyato brahmacari Sabbesu bhutesu nidhaya dandam So brahmano so samano sa bhikkhu Not By External Appearance does one become holy Though gaily decked, if he should live in peace, (with passions) subdued, (and senses) controlled, certain (of the four paths of sainthood), perfectly pure (Highest conduct), laying aside the rod ( in his relations) towards all living beings( because he has caste aside impurities). a Brahmana indeed is he, an ascetic is he, a bhikkhu is he.
