I have done the build. I think it is pure genius. Well done Admiral Mechan. With this build you can keep the enemy in sight at all times. You are faster than anything he can throw at you. You don't have to worry about special attacks. You can keep the enemy in sight AND out of reach while you re-arm and re-supply heat sinks. And if you mess up (like I did) it only costs you 28,000 rebuy.

Wow! You just gave me a reason to build one. I have NEVER flown a Viper Mk3 for any extended period of time; you also alerted me to the enhanced thrusters as well, which I totally need to buy and engineer.

The EPTs are a game-changer on all the (small) ships which can kit them. The Imperial Courier in particular becomes a real beast with them. The Eagles/Sidey/Hauler/ViperMk3 do great with them. And even that pile of flying garbage known as the Adder flies near-decently with them.

I do have a little practice :). But even then, the Viper Mk3 does make orbiting comparatively easier. Its forward thrust is just the best in the game by a mile, and its laterals are almost as good as the best (which is the Eagle Mk2). Just forget you have the boost button as that will truly wreck your orbit!

You are right. I was going for the right balance of combat music and voiceover … erred on the side of music in the combat section. Agree it came out to be too loud!
