Hi Jen, greetings from a (still contracted) VIPKID teacher and brick-and-mortar American expat teacher in Taipei, Taiwan! Hey, now that you’ve signed up in this system, was this an Either-Or scenario? In other words, did you have to choose between this and the current VIPKID system or did your VIPKID status remain intact (2 parallel opportunities, I guess you could say)? Thanks!

Hey Daniel, literally nothing happened after I signed up. No email confirmation, nothing. This is like an umbrella that would have VIPKid Global underneath it with any other business endeavours like Native Camp, Outschool, Allschool, independent teaching, and Teachers Pay Teachers. No need to choose one or the other. It seems to me to be a place to centralize your business and a community of other teacherpreneurs too.

wait so original vipkid doesn't exist anymore? right? lol I'm so confused!!!!! I applied a few months ago and never heard back, I tried contacting them everywhere and got ignored. They say they'll email you even if you got denied, but I didn't get anything, it's been stuck on pending result for months. I've seen some mention that vipkid is just fake now, even their website, do you happen to know anything?

VIPKid Global is for real. But they are not on boarding new teachers (I only know this from experience with my referrals) and yes, communication is scarce. Currently contracted teachers are teaching, many with full schedules.

Contracted teachers are working. People have full schedules. Primarily Chinese students. Some people still can’t get bookings. I haven’t heard of any new teachers being hired.

I get emails a couple of times a week asking me to start teaching with them. So I would say yes they are!

I’m afraid not. Other than people are starting to work more, some are fully booked, including a friend of mine. I’ve still not been offered adult speaking or guided reading. I am one class shy of being fully booked on Outschool and have a waiting list for Sunday classes. I’m still building my own private teaching biz, so I don’t have to depend on another platform. One on one academic classes are booming on Outschool right now, so DM me if you want to take the leap to Outschool and make what you’re worth. ☺️
