As an Indian I totally agree to this...recently one of my friend who for the first time went to London posted London museums pics which had all the loots from India that the British stole. When I countered him that the British stole away these artifacts from us he gave me a quite shocking response, he said "yes but we Indians would have not been able to maintain these the way they have maintained in their museums". Shows the mentality of a lot of Indians who go abroad and demean very thing Indian. Sad reality but true.

I know it's on a different scale but I come from a very rural farming community and to be accepted when I moved to the city I had to denigrate where I came from as if it was bad. Looking back on it now I wish I had stayed true to myself and my home those years. @@shatdharsanamuttamkumar775 Given rape and sexual violence in India is nowhere near as severe as the same issue is in most other countries in the world, it is very misleading to even include such a characterisation in any content related to India. Rape and violence against women are global problems, and are closely related to the income levels of the regions which they affect. India is not only among the safest countries for women out of all those countries with a similar level of economic devlopment per capita, and gdp per capita, but it is safer and has a lower rate of sexual assault than even some first world countries, according to statistics. Abhijit ji is spilling facts as usual. There are many "Brown Coolies" in Bharat who bend over backwards, to appease their colonial masters in the West, & they do not miss a single opportunity to denigrate Bharat's culture & civilization, all of it almost always aimed at Hindu Dharma. Sadly, most of the mainstream "comedians" in our country are of the same ilk as Vir Das, who'll readily take potshots at Hinduism & Bharat's age-old traditions, but will go mute when it comes to Abrahamic or Communist ideologies, which are historically the root cause of most of the world's problems. Let me breakdown this for you all WhatsApp University graduates. According to NCRB (National crime records bureau) 1. In India one rape happens in every 15 minutes, that means while you are reading this someone is probably is being raped and I pray she's not one of your closed ones. 2.every 4th victim of rape in India is a minor. I hope this doesn't need any explanation. 3. India is among the top countries in world when it comes to rape cases. So at least vir is aware of it and hence he has spoken about it.. meanwhile some self proclaimed historians who read hundreds of books daily, about facts and pasts and whatnot, can ignore such data which is in public domain and remain silent even after having a substantial following on social media... what does that make him? A coward? An opportunist? A manipulator? It's up to you to decide. ✌️ Someone who has followers have to talk about problems on ground level that's what influencers are for and vir is doing it just fine.

Hm I got your point, but is this okay to split these facts in foreign countries which already have a negative mindset about India. According to me he only did this for fame.

Mr IITian because you just called others whatsApp graduates because you probably prosper in a sea of knowledge, you might wanna know about something 1. Thank you for your concern and i hope someone close to you either is not getting raped right now or shall I say no one's getting raped right now. The thing is he JUST didn't say india is a place where rapes happen the most but he said if you'd have watched the video of his completely, an india where we worship women in the day and gangrape them in the night' would you Mr IITan please tell me any other religion which worships women? Islam? Even considering islam worships women is haram lol. Christianity? Don't think so either? Apart from these I cant think of any other main religions of india? Navratri's coming to my mind where HINDUS worship women. Then Mr IITan graduate in one of his past videos he tried to a protector of Islam where he speaks about Islam not being a religion of peace. In past he has deleted many tweets regarding Islam and Christianity, mainly Islam, would tell me why'd a man like this wouldn't speak anything at all about islam? Or india just hindis? It's country of Muslims as well right? Why'd he not speak about Muslims or Christianity ? You know why? Because he's a hypocrite, he didn't just demean india , he demeaned Hinduism. All in all he's a mothe*fuckin hypocrite pathetic piece of shit and then scumbags like you who wouldn't mind getting their country be badmouthed in front of lakhs of people mainy Americans because you think it's cool.

Whatever vir das said is his opinion and he has the right to have his own opinion, but the main point here is that if really wanted to express his view point, try to bring a change, what was the need for saying such stuff on a foreign soil? He would've got the same attention had he recited his poem here, it could've sparked the same conversation without defaming india much as compared to saying it on an international forum. Every country has its own issues but i dont think its right to make fun or discuss such issues at an international stage which could be discussed in your own country, i would have no problem had he done the same here in India. Just to come into the limelight, he says such things on an international forum at the cost of his own country's reputation is very selfish and is shameful indeed

Why can people not be honest and take reality as it is? why truth hurts their egos? Did Vir Das write something in his poem that was not true at all? Egos and wrong perspective of greatness is stopping this country's progress. This country has incredibly talented, hardworking and some of the best intellectual people ever born in history of mankind but still we can't take truth as it is , we are afraid of what? There isn't much content (mainly podcasts)about literature and art and culture in this country, these fields are most important for a country to grow. I don't feel that anyone should be ashamed of telling the truth. I just listen jre podcasts.. ranveer is doing well.. but at least title of this video could be different.. I feel like people writing a comment here mostly agree with the video. I would like to present some arguments on the contrary. It is not bad to have things you are not proud of, of your country. It is a necessary element to improve it. People who are proud of everything from a country are useless for it's growth. How can anyone be proud of poverty, riots, unemployment etc. We need to recognise that there are problems to solve it. I would argue that people who recognise and talk about strategies to solve the innumerable problems we have, are more important for the country than the people who are offended by small things. If want to be offended, be offended by our politicians who are more interested to pleasing the top 1% and let's the rest of the country fight and starve over religion.
