I've seen it hit pole across the street, and I'll never forget that feeling, it was so intense, I don't even know how to explain/ describe it. We get some crazy lightning/ thunder here in FL, I'm in Clearwater, FL now and supposedly we hold the title of lightning capital of the world. I saw some crazy storms in Miami too though.

When the clouds get that low, you almost think you might be able to reach up and touch it. I love it when you can see clouds get low like that. It’s just not what you wanna see if there’s a funnel cloud behind it that is also reaching for the ground. Reach out and touch faith

For anybody who is interested in how that cloud is created: the air falling down behind the wave is comprised of cold downdrafts, and the air in front of the wave is comprised of warm updrafts. Those two competing air streams create a circling motion, and that creates that type of cloud.

@@marym.7031 there is a bulge but if there is any rotation, it would be very broad which means no tornado. I don't see any rotation with it plus that downdraft is way too close to that area which means all the energy is being blown out instead of having an updraft that brings it in. No meso here and no beavers tail. No clear slot either which means a tornado can't develop here. Yes there are clouds that are sagging probably from water but no rotation plus no tale tale signs of a tornadic signature here

Wrong part of the storm for a tornado. Hard to be 100% without seeing more of the storm’s structure but it’s likely the forward-flank downdraft, which (in the Northern hemisphere) is on the leading (North-East) edge of the storm. Tornadoes form on the South-West corner. Still, this is a powerful downdraft, which means there’s a powerful updraft. And a powerful, rotating updraft is what causes tornadoes.

I saw 1 like that coming over Geneva. It appeared in seconds out of nowhere. no storm warning nothing and then all hell broke loose. A short storm but very violent. Everybody running for shelter. I swear It was like God himself coming over us so close I was afraid. I’ve never seen a cloud like that very close to the ground and huge like a city. I’ll always remember that. Glad you caught this on video. It happens, not exactly like this but more often than you think it would when conditions are just right! To me, when I am privileged to see some of these weather phenomenon, I am always reminded of the Bible verse in Psalms 19:1 where David sings; "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies show the work of His hands!"

Ugh. I hate that feeling.. I was at my fire station for storm stand by and these type clouds and a wall / shelf clouds loomed over our station. My district wasn’t hit with anything but rain and high winds but one district south in the neighboring county had a ef2 tornado hit. We went helped clean up trees and other debris after we made sure our district was cleaned up. Nothing major happened in their territory either as it’s all mostly rural out here

Born and raised in Kentucky. Let tell you, Kentucky gets vicious storms. I've seen storms approaching that you thought were mountains. Nope storm clouds. And you do pray. Scary stuff
