Im a big fan of Virgil, but this is truely a big inspiration to watch...He and Vinnie are my main drumgods for a deeeeeep reason..., not only technical,but also lifestyle and love and passion for art ... .🎶🎶🎶👍👍👍 Its simple to stay mediocre...Its harder to become a leader and push your self further...Discipline and no false ego mindset and meeting the right positive people willing to help eachother...Thank you Virgil for everything!!!Cheers, Jeroen Simons, Independent,ex-Epica.

@@morgenthaler I’ve got a feeling Origin and the End might have been written by David Hirschfelder, and Australian composer. This might be wrong, pretty sure David did write the final piece from the seminal 97 MD performance. I had it on VHS and literally wore the tape out I watched it so much.
@morgenthaler

@@Convisis Yes, I think you might be right, actually! I totally forgot about that. I can't remember if David wrote the piece all by himself, or if they co-wrote it. 🤷‍♂️

I cant believe Dream Theater didn't get him instead of Mike Mangini, their music would've progressed immensely with his composition style.
@HOLLOWOXDT1

the jams he did with them ( even if snippets ) are the best . i think ( imho ) that they got intimidated by him and maybe they just don't want a drummer composer like him , i think at that time they wanted a drummer who played the drum parts like the original studio stuff with zero or minimal creative input . even marco minneman said in an interview that Virgil is too deep just to be auditionned like that . he sure would have propulsed Dream theater to new horizons maybe more into the jazz/fusion realm . his work on Moonbabies and quantum is so avantgarde

Maybe because he can run circles around their 'wacky' basic bro odd times they claim are soooo complex only they get it. Virgil has more complex songs and musicians on his albums than any of those 4 progclowns.

RAD🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🎶🎶🎶…He didn’t get the Dream Theater gig cause he’s primarily a solo drummer who would outshine the whole band…This is why Virgil had to create his own Planet X band…It enables to play his own material & not someone else’s…
