I've been on both BA and Virgin B747-400s had great memories of them. Incidentally I flew to Miami on G-CIVD in 2015 and also last came back from Miami on G-CIVE little did I know was last time so glad I got to opportunity to get back on B747 as I knew they were up against time. RIP B747-400 and thank you for the great memories

More than likely she will be chopped up. The deserts here are full of 747's waiting there turn to be ground up. Only a small few will be converted into freighters for the smaller cargo operators like Kalitta.

breeze 147 I think VROM is owned by a leasing company so it would seem to make sense to get some more use out of the airframe if possible. I'd heard it suggested that she would carry on in some guise, presumably freight. Sadly the BA 747's fate is rather more clear cut (no pun intended!)

Flown the 747,s with BA and Virgin, only chance now will be Lufthansa dash 8. Sad to see the demise of four engines always feel safer but the Covid 19 and accountants have changed our world. Sad times glad I was able to enjoy the golden years and not the cattle class of today.
