He never was put out there like some other people from the 90's I could mention because he didn't go around saying and doing clownish/tabloidy things all the time. He didn't want all that attention 24/7, he was realer than all that.

I almost cried when I saw him and watched him in concert the reason I didn't let it out was because I was so mesmerised by his presence and performance as it happened it kind of distracted me again but I also didn't want to look like an idiot or over the top. But it was a spiritual experience as in I looked up to the sky towards Heaven and thought of Jesus. You can't get more powerful than that. The Holy Spirit was there. It was so incredible. I am literally still coming down from the concert a week ago. The man is so special to me his music his presence his performance what I've seen of him as a person. It's really beautiful. The music is just honestly incredible. When he walked onto that stage I didn't even realise.I heard my husband shouting so loud and looked at him and his face was so stunned I knew then that the man who had just walked on stage so quietly and humbly and without any noise, was him.....I didn't have my glasses on and I nearly died with such love and admiration when I realised as I said to my husband is that him as I couldn't see properly and Richard had his back to us bending down doing something then he stood up and spoke to us all and my husband said yes its him, then he started singing and playing "Sonnet" and..... WOW..... I was totally stunned, my goodness what a night we were in for. Absolutely incredible. Plus Jesus was present I know it. God Bless that man. 🙏🙏🙏

Richard is so real. What a talent! What a legend. He seems to love his fans onstage. I would give anything to see the Verve reunion someday!!! Woohoo! But I love RA music solo too! 😘 Yes Johnny Cash "Hurt" is one video I listen to regularly! Yes many of us can identify.

Very COOL to head Richard Ashcroft being so humble. "Bitter Sweet Symphony" is based on a sample from a 1965 version of the Rolling Stones song "The Last Time" by the Andrew Oldham Orchestra. The Verve added strings, guitar, percussion and vocals. They obtained rights to use the "Last Time" sample from the copyright holder, Decca Records, but were denied permission from the Rolling Stones' former manager, Allen Klein. Following a lawsuit, the Verve relinquished all royalties and the Rolling Stones members Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were added to the songwriting credits. In 2019, after Klein's death, Jagger, Richards and Klein's son ceded the rights to the Verve songwriter Richard Ashcroft. Brilliant. ❤

Well conducting prepared interview, he asked great questions to learn about his creative thinking skills. I've got to say he asked strategic questions that require him to share work and life situations that he had encountered in the past. Both shared experiences and the conversation is so relaxed that it just flows.

Wow! Amazing interview. Grew up listening to Bittersweet Symphony, brings back childhood memories of going over the mountains on holiday. You’re such an inspiration Mr. Ashcroft; Hurt by Johnny Cash is a song and lyrics that well me up too, it all comes out! I went through some tough patches as a teen I was very badly bullied at school - name calling, nasty comments, you name it, it happened. It was a tough few years, but listening to The Drugs Don’t Work, Sonnet, One Day, and a lot of your solo stuff was one of my “coping mechanisms.” It was tough, the taunting stuck emotionally, but I got to the end of a tunnel and left school at 16. Today I listen to Lucky Man and I count my blessings every day. Thank you, Mr. Ashcroft x
