I have all their studio albums and they are all wonderful. I personally like the first 4 albums more than the last 4 and “Country Life” is one of my favorites because Phil and Paul are really shining on that album. Roxy were also a brilliant live band as live footage and bootlegs show and “Viva” is that rare thing - a great live album. Great, great band. Love them. Let’s not forget Bryan Ferry who wrote or co-wrote those great songs and had a unique voice.

I'll be a bit more forgiving than you and say I personally like the first 5 albums more than the last 3. "Siren' is a good album. It's not as good as the four albums that came before it but it's still better than the three albums which came after.Oh,and 'Country Life' is my favorite Roxy Music album as well. lol

One of my favorite bands......so nice to hear these little stories about how they worked ...... I had the privilege to see them backstage at the Academy of Music in NYC.....magical night..... I was standing probably about 10 feet or so from Andy on the side of the stage and remember his pointed sideburns quite vividly..... Brian was wearing a red leather suit and tie .... musical perfection that evening....the sound on stage was impeccable

Roxy Music had a rabid following in Cleveland Ohio, and I can attest to their being an influence on punk whether they realize it or not. Just listen to some early Pere Ubu if you don't believe me. Matter of fact, Ubu called their music "avant garage". And prior to the formation of Ubu, vocalist Dave Thomas was a writer for Cleveland Scene magazine. He RAVED about the first Roxy Music album.

Bryan always gets the attention for his sartorial style but I've never seen Andy Mackay look anything less than dapper over the years. He has a cool calm presence.

Oboe on other similar era music... all I can think of is Soft Machine who had numerous uses of the oboe from Fourth through Alive and Well in Paris.

My favorite album is Siren. Perfect album. The ones after are not as good, but still have some classics in them. But those first few albums are perfection!

Shame this interviewer didn't know the history and importance of Roxy Music. His clear lack of knowledge about the chronology and significance of the group really stymied this. These guys were an open book, ready to talk about anything, and the interviewer just misses opportunity after opportunity to dig into the story and the songs. Also, yea why make a big point about how Roxy were "his parent's generation", when he looks as old as they do.

Looks like Andy Mackay isn’t happy that Bryan Ferry gets the credit for writing the first 2 Roxy Albums probably due to the royalties that he’s missed out on . Not quite sure why he’s brought it up now when he’s says it’s too late to worry about .

Going on and on about Roxy Music's disco pop hits, while making NO mention of their best albums, "Stranded" and "Country Life," demonstrates how clueless the old guy interviewer is. Seriously? With songs like "Mother of Pearl, Amazona, A Song For Europe, Out Of The Blue, The Thrill Of It All" and "Three and Nine," he wants to know about "Dance Away" and "Angel Eyes?" I've been a devout fan of Roxy Music since seeing them on their first U.S. tour in 1972 and last seeing them on their 50th anniversary tour in 2022, and have witnessed their evolution chronologically, and can read between the lines of the statements by MacKay and ManZanera. I'm glad that there is continuing and new-found interest in Roxy Music, but the interviewer reveals himself as "The Bogus Man."

The interviewer doesn't properly introduce the guests. Pretty elementary. The interviewing is so crass and inept, makes it more boring than it should be.

I could listen to Phil Manzanera all day, such an open, intelligent guy with a million stories to tell. Rarer to see Andy interviewed. A wasted opportunity, I agree. Someone with a bit of genuine interest and/or knowledge of the band would have been better. Rather than someone who vaguely remembers his parents playing Dance Away over and over 😉

old blokes, half-remembering the faded memories of their youth... looking old and forgetting what they did, why they did it and why they're there. Pointless, boring & embarassing, even! Yaaawwwnnn...

Yes, it's sad that we have to get old and lose our youthful beauty. It will happen to you too, if you live ,long enough. If you are not interested in what these musicians have to say, why are you here?
