Late to the party, but Virgin Steele is indeed my favorite band. Especially their works between 1994 and 2006. But the other albums have their perks too. I was actually very fortunate to see them live once at the Keep it True Festival in 2005 with astonishingly 2.5 hours long setlist, which was absolutely amazing. I was actually solely travelling there because of Virgin Steele. In case anyone was wondering. Not the best pick of song IMO. It's a great song but it works better in context as the finale to this album rather than by itself.

1st time I heard them I couldn't believe my ears, it was insane it was like a twisted twin of Manowar. I did see them live in a bar in Wantagh, NY and they did the flaming sword act.

At least the song title isn't Agony and SHANE. 😹 I remember these guys from back in the day...and if I remember correctly, Kelly Nickels played with them early on and Teddy Cook was in there at some point, too...I think??? I want to call this REGAL METAL with the mix of orchestrations and pumping riffs....a very hard combo to execute nicely in my opinion....it kind of reminds me X Japan's The Art of Life in a way (although it's about a quarter of the length!)....

I prefer Virgin Steele to ManOwaR. But id describe them as a mix of Manowar and Marillion with some Van Halen mixed in. The vocals too are like a mix of Eric Adams, David Lee Roth and Fish from Marillion.
