Virginia family recounts being on sinking ferry in Bahamas

A Virginia Beach family returned back to Hampton Roads on Thursday after they went on a trip to the Bahamas that later turned into a nightmare after a ferry they were on capsized.
"The water really looked like the scenes from Titanic with everything floating on the water," Emma Hess, who was on the Blue Lagoon ferry, said.
Emma described what happened in Nassau on Tuesday as chaotic after the ferry boat she and her family were on began to take on water.

My Dr. His wife, mother and 2 & 4 yr old sons were on there. We talked for an hour about it yesterday. He said the life vest were out of reach, so he had to have a tall teen guy grab them for his family. He said the bow went under a large wave and started taking on water. His whole family ended up in the water. He said the life vests had a sales tag on them that they couldn't break by hand so that's why they had to slide them onto their arms. He said they received no safety instructions before or after departing the ship. I asked him if they where taking care of. The only thing they received was a refund for the boat ride.
