Thank you so much for uploading VRE trains! I live up in Northern Virginia, so I'm used to seeing them.

Thanks for making this video! I've basically grown up with the VRE. When I was younger, I rode into DC on the VRE with my mom a few times. We would always take the Fredricksburg Line from Woodbridge into Union Station. One time, we missed the train, so we hopped on a Northeast Regional that came a half hour later, which ended up being my first Amtrak ride. Good times!

@pauld69679 ай бұрын
I will be using it for the first time in the near future. So, thank you for giving me a positive expectation. I have used Metro in the distant past, so I was thinking it might be along the same level of quality and crowding.
@HydroWorldOutlookPrimary576922 күн бұрын
@@pauld6967 No, VRE is not as crowded because they have bilevel railcars and their trains operate over longer distances beyond the current metrorail termini. However, there are some trains that are more crowded than others, so I would advise you to check the schedules before your first ride. There is a quiet car though if you need it (that's the car closest to the front of the train.) The busiest morning (northbound) trains tend to operate between the hours of 6 AM and 8 AM, while the busiest evening (southbound trains tend to operate between the hours of 5 PM and 7 PM. The good news is, it won't be long now before VRE expands their schedule to include evening service and some Saturday service (within the 2025-2026 fiscal year.), which will attract more riders to the system while spreading out passengers across more trains. A new infill station on the Fredericksburg Line in Potomac Shores will also contribute. Moreover, VRE plans to work with MARC on instituting run-through service in the future once the second two-track Long Bridge is completed between Virginia and Washington D.C., allowing better airport access and more frequent, single-seat longer-distance service for seamless travel throughout the region.

I happen to be a Railfan based in Northern Virginia not to mention that my neighborhood is situated right on the bank of the Potomac River as well as the CSX Rappahannock, Fredericksburg & Potomac (or RF&P as we refer to it as) subdivision. I have SEVERAL videos of VRE Fredericksburg Line trains passing through my neighborhood in addition to Amtrak so this was pretty cool to see

@@pauld6967 It will happen. Virginia Railway Express has expressly confirmed their plans to begin Saturday Service within the next fiscal year, by Summer of 2026 at the very latest. However, it will start with only one or two round-trips on each line, at least until the corridor is triple-tracked and all the stations are upgraded with two or more platforms to handle at least two trains, one in each direction, simultaneously.
