As a UVA alum and huge college bball fan, after our UMBC loss and knowing that every tournament for the next 50+ years or until it happens again, UVA’s loss as a 1 sees vs a 16 seed would be mentioned, I said to myself, the only way for us to not be mocked for all eternity, is to win it all next year. And then it happened. And, as you say, in a monumentally spectacular fashion. I was there. It was incredible. Best sporting experience of my life. Only other sports thing I’d really like to see is for the USMNT to win the World Cup. If that happens, I could die a sports contented man. Wahoowa!

The UVA player who defended Brown, De'Andre Hunter remained stationary and did not jump at all. After Brown released the shot and as he came down, Brown's momentum carried him forwards, so Hunter, being well-coached, actually walked backwards and did not make contact with Brown. Brown fell on his own accord because he had been spinning towards the basket as he caught the pass.

I have no bias between either team, that last call was correct. There have been too many tweaked ankles from shooters landing on defenders toes, that's why that is a foul in the rule book.

What Tony Bennett has done with this program is nothing short of amazing. He puts the student first in student/athlete. Not only a great coach on the court but just today turned down a raise for himself to give more money to his assistants but also gave $500,000 to an endowment for players to prepare for careers outside of basketball after graduation. Thanks to the comments here, I went back to see the double dribble again for myself. Jerome, grabbed BY the hand by the defender pre-double dribble. One caused the other. Two calls "missed" in a frantic boom-boom play at the end of the game. History wasn't really impacted as they cancel each other out. Va. still gets the ball out of bounds, etc.

Hero is Kyle Guy. That was tremendous pressure. Last call was 100% correct. Auburn made body contact before the ball went to the air. That was a clean call. Ref missed the double dribble call, but that's clear after the review. When the game was so fast, it was quite deceptive to miss that call. In the 5 minutes, Virginia was up 57:46, then Auburn played tough and made a lot of body contacts but ref didn't call those fouls. Why do you think Virginia missed all those shots and let Auburn come back from 46:57 to 60:57? Virginia didn't suddenly play bad in last 5 minutes, but because Auburn made lot of fouls but ref didn't call those. Overall it was a clean game.

I did not get the chance to watch this game live. I was listening to this game on radio while driving. I don't know the specific rules, but I thought time usually stops either for a timeout or at the referee's discretion as soon as any player touches the ball. From looking at the game clock, it would appear that the clock should have been adjusted at 6.6 seconds instead of 7.4. I praise both teams for their effort. But I feel terrible for Auburn. Also, on radio, it was not possible for me to witness the controversial no call double dribble. That is gut wrenching after the effort Auburn put through to cut that 10 point deficit and take the lead late. It's tough.

AFTER??? AFTER!!! LITERALLY EVERYONE NOTICED THE DOUBLE DRIBBLE AFTER THE PLAY AND DIDNT CATCH IT IN REAL TIME. People suddenly become double dribble experts after they have to be spoon fed this slow motion replay just for them to notice a simple foul that NOBODY caught in the first place

Yep. I agree, that was a clutch call by the ref. I know refs hate to end the game on a foul call, but you gotta make the call if it is a foul.
