Every team that has beaten Oregon in the NCAA tournament since Altman has been the coach has gone on to at least the Final Four. Three national champions (Louisville '13, UNC '17 and UVA '19), a runner-up (UW '15) and two Final Four teams (UW in '14 and OU in '16).

I’m so happy for Virginia and their fans. Virginia has been the biggest letdown over the past few NCAA tournaments getting a really high seed and leaving early. Now naysayers and analysts are choking on their own words after multiple wins. Even if Virginia loses, they exceeded beyond expectations and got the monkey off their back. I hope they win it all

Number 0 was the lucky charm of virginia..he is the smallest man on the court but he has the biggest heart on the game especially when he hit that 3 point shot under four minutes on gametime,that was the break of the game because he dont let the oregon to get the momentum..

Proud of these Ducks. It's a sad ending for them, but to go from 6th in the Pac-12 to almost upsetting a 1 seed in the sweet 16 is a testament to their resiliency and Altman's coaching. They'll be back next year, especially with their incoming freshmen class.

Mad props to Virginia. Taking Wooten out of the play on both ends of the court along with containing Pritchard's ability to facilitate the offense was what got them the win; King being injured and trying to play hero-ball down the stretch didn't help either. Every year the Ducks made the tourney under Altman they've been eliminated by either a Final Four team (Wisconsin in '14/'15, Oklahoma in '16) or the eventual champion (Louisville in '13, UNC in '17); I hope UVA becomes one of the latter. Hope the rest of the roster stays now that Bol's officially gone. They'll be an extremely tough out if this defense carries over into next season.

Oregon wasn't exactly a typical 12-seed; when healthy they were the best team in the Pac 12 and had they been healthy all season they probably would have been a 3 or 4 seed. Best example of that is they were the sixth-place team in the Pac-12 yet they were the betting favorites to win the conference tournament, which they did handily.

And no one even realized he double dribbled until after the game. Not even the announcers. Virginia got lucky at the end, but Auburn was lucky to even be in the game of that point. They went on a crazy last second run.

@L. Van Zandt Lucky is when the other team deflects your shot at the buzzer and it goes in the basket. For a team that has become a consistent top five powerhouse and ACC champ, UVA is not "lucky" to be in the Elite Eight. Virginia regularly scores more points than the teams it plays. Sometimes a lot more, sometimes a few more. One might as well say Oregon was "lucky" Guy and Hunter have gone cold. Or, Oregon was lucky it got as close as it did. The chance that any given team will win the NCAA tournament is slim, so it hardly counts as prescience to say 'mark my words team X won't win the championship'. Simple math would suggest any team in the Elite Eight has a 12.5% chance at winning it all. Duke beat Virginia twice this year, and Virginia is notoriously bad in the big dance. All in all it's unlikely Virginia will win. So no need to mark your words.

People tend to forget that Tony Bennett is a young coach. But his coaching has been stellar at UVA. He's learned from his mistakes in the NCAA in the previous years. Coach K and your other top coaches across the country had their learning curve too before winning the NCAA. This may be his year, I believe it is!
