The thing that disturbs me so much about the constant news interviews around these events that talk about how people survived by playing dead, is that it's practically teaching future mass shooters to double check their victims to see which are playing dead.
@sarvolkskaya Жыл бұрын
Absolutely agree. I know they’re often trying to highlight how smart the victim was - especially when they’re a child - and they do deserve recognition 100% but we know that future shooters often pay a lot of attention to other active shooter incidents in the news and will internalize that info. We’ve already seen it happen. 😕

An interesting detail is that the Professor killed in the Hallway was actually from the 3rd floor. He was the only person originally on the third floor in the shooting to be killed. When the shooting started he apparently rounded up all students on the 3rd floor and barricaded them in his office, then went down to investigate what was going on/see if he could help. When he arrived in the 2nd Floor Hallway was when he was killed.

People heard it, and there were two people in the room right next to Hilscher's. It was early in the morning, and many people were either still sleeping or getting ready for class. I worked in that building at the time. This was a tough watch. Edit: in fact, I was one of the people the FBI interviewed (as a group) several days before. Cho was testing the response time of the police by dropping bomb threat notes in different buildings. This happened after I helped clear Torgesen Hall. There was a TA that recognized the way Cho wrote his periods as circles, and that they may be looking for someone Asian. I've always wondered if that was in a report anywhere...

Horrible tragedy. Thank you for you sharing. Hopefully we all can learn from this. I recommend reading Gavin de Becker's The Gift of Fear. It suggests leaving situations like these as soon as you can. I am sad that so many stayed in the classroom only to perish the second or third time the shooter came by.

I’ve been waiting for an animation on this one, thanks for making one. Another shooting I’d like to see, though brief, is the Chardon High School shooting.

good job with the animation, glad you’re back. I have a suggestion, instead of just putting the key at the start could you leave it at the bottom as well throughout the video.
@SarinGasAttack3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'll see if I can do that. I just worry that it'd clutter up the animation

Did he take a look in all the classrooms prior to the spree to see which room had the most students present or was he looking for someone in particular?
@SarinGasAttack3 жыл бұрын
I believe he was looking to see if any classroom was empty. For instance, classroom 210 had a class cancelled that day and was empty during the shooting

Really good video, something you might want to consider adding is the time in one of the corners, just gives a sense of well time
@SarinGasAttack Жыл бұрын
I could, but timing in events like this is difficult, due to their short timeframe and lack of accurate timekeeping.

This is truly horrifying. This is so much more horrifying than any of the coverage I had seen on this attack up until now.
