Exactly. The refs created the controversy because they gave VT hope by calling it a catch/touchdown. Instead they should have said incomplete and settled it under the hood.

The TD for VT at the end should have been called incomplete. Terrible call to begin with. They got it right on the replay. The holding call on Bell on UM's third TD was a very bad call. Would have been 21-7 and would have been a different game.

Miami basically beat themselves. Miami we’re missing multiple starters and lost multiple starting players on the defensive line & secondary. Miami turned the ball over in the redzone twice and fumbled basically on their own end zone. The refs didn’t call a penalty on that last field goal before the half. Virginia tech had two #17’s on the field. That would have pushed them out of field goal range. That holding call on our left tackle to take that touchdown off the board. A ref calling a past interference that he wasn’t supposed to call. The refs was definitely helping v tech and Miami played their worst game

That isn't entirely true. Even though we made mistakes VT still went up and down the field for 300+ yards including 200+ rushing yards and 34 points. The linebacking and secondary were exposed against a team that lost to Vanderbilt. No running game. The Oline and defense didn't do their job. No excuses.

On a "off night" Cam still accounted for 400 yards and 5 TDs and a clutch comeback win in the 4th quarter. This is a "off night" from Cam think about that, he is ELITE.

Poor time management on last drive. Stupid fake field goal call. Many dumb penalties. VT coaches/players lost the game not the officials. Also VT beat the spread td or not so the play didnt affect the betting line in any way. VT got no reason to hang their heads. Great team in the making.

There was a play in Clemson vs Stanford that was similar. There was evidence if your brain can comprehend when players touch outbounds and touch other players or the ball make ball out of bounds and the player they touch out of bounds you bobble the ball and regather in it on the out of bounds or laying out of bounds it’s incomplete you have to have one foot in bounds after regather a bobble pass. ITS THE RIGHT CALL AND THERE WAS ENOUGH EVIDENCE

Only bad call out there was calling it a touchdown. You can't just make something up because you think you have to if you didn't see anything don't make the call. Call it incomplete and then turn it over if you have to it's a lot easier to reverse and incomplete than it is a touchdown.

What I don't understand is if they got it right, you both agree, and I hear so many say the same thing, then why would V-Tech be upset? I was at the game, I am a Miami die hard, we were outplayed, but it was a good call turning it to an incomplete was accurate... Move on! We have issues as a team, I am worried about our tackling, about our great QB throwing silly interceptions to worry about "It was the right call, but the other team should be pissed" I am out...

But to VT, you might want to stop calling out the refs, cause they will start making bad calls on you. Miami fans know about this all too well. Even when we were in the Big East, playing against ACC teams. Or any team actually, they hated on Miami, and cost us two more championships.

What should have been done was to not call anything until they looked at the replay first, or just say incomplete pass. Then reviewed it to see what happened. They need to get rid of that stupid of that inconclusive evidence role. Or whatever it's called, can't think of the word right now. But when it comes to situations like this, the replay should be the only thing used.

Only touch down call where a referee calls it and if you put a gun to his head, he couldn't tell you who got the ball. By now, usually awful ACC referees.

Call it incomplete then review. Although.. this is just my opinion, but I would have had them do the play over.
