James Drury unplugged. I loved this video. He's so intelligent and articulate and gorgeous. I wish I had known him.

James Drury had the same voice, for years, esp. when he moved to Houston, in the 70s! He will always be known as: "The Virginian." May he #RIP!

James Drury was right. At this interview, he was at the top of his fame. During this time, he accepted a commission as a Lt. Commander, in the naval reserve. Again, at the height of the Vietnam protests. He paid a price for his patriotism. James Drury never had another successful television program. Like my Dad, James Drury openly supported Barry Goldwater, Nixon and Ronald Reagan. All were better men than the alternatives. If there were not men like my Father and James Drury, someone like Jane Fonda would have succeeded in her communist agenda. She was a traitor but was instead financially rewarded, by liberal Hollywood and the nedia. Someone like James Drury gave his time freely to charity yet had to find success elsewhere and he did. Their hard work helped keep this country free

Nixon. Watergate. He was not a good man.
@katemccullough78214 жыл бұрын
@@knmlover It was relative. Nixon was better than Humphrey, a weak-kneed liberal and McGovern a supposed socialist/communist. If you listen to the interview, James Drury traveled 114k miles for Nixon's election, only to be disappointed in him. Nixon was lousy but he was better than the alternatives. Where did I say he was good? Again, he was better than the alternatives.

I doubt he would care for either Trump (small d*cked megalomaniac) or Biden (stammering senile apparatchik). The parenthetical words are guesses at how he might view them from a backseat after a couple of shots.

Interesting character off the screen from this backseat interview. Seemed a bit tipsy, and the glasses added the right touch. His son was a member of the rock band The Eagles later on. It's a shame he never got any plug roles after The Virginian. He would have been good in a role similar to the one Peppard had in the A-Team, or as any sort of wisecracking soldier of fortune, adventurer, etc., but I guess the cowboy image typecast him too much just as the Western genre faded from ratings popularity in the '70s. Gotta love his barbs and comments about hippies, Midnight Cowboy, and Easy Rider. Sorta of ironic that an old Jon Voight (one of those "f--gs from the East Village") eventually in the Age of Trump wound up making the mildly conservative to libertarian Drury look like a flaming lib lab in contrast.

I saw Timothy Drury on keyboards with the band Whitesnake live, about 2004.

Drury just came from a different time when weirdness was not put on a pedestal by people that wish the destruction of this country. Those Drury beliefs were the bedrock the country was built on. People that cannot now see the writing on the wall all these years later are blind mice.
