When I told my mentor of 13 years that I’m no longer Christian, her energy completely changed. She was so integral to my life bro I looked up to her and I loved her deeply. She was my PERSON. When mom didn’t understand me, I always knew I could get an honest, educated viewpoint from her (she’s a clinical therapist). I LOVED HER. The moment I revealed that I no longer wanted to follow that Christian path, she was different. We went back and forth on a bit of theology and she couldn’t answer my questions and I think it triggered her. She struggle with staying in communication with me due to being so busy, but after that conversation she started taking WEEKS to respond or she wouldn’t respond. I asked her out on a date just me and her and she said her two kids were coming. Like obviously she knew we haven’t talked in so long, yeah, our first connections together is with your kids? So I immediately cancel that and was honest with her. Since then, she doesn’t really respond, and I just blocked her as well as another family mentor that I’ve known since I was a child that also abandoned me in the roughest time of my life. He doesn't know how to come towards me anymore, so I've won my life back from an extremely controlling individual I've never been with. I did nothing but give loyalty, genuine friendship and got thrown away multiple times over 4 year's but each time he did this, it spun me in a better direction and now I've been a belly dancer for 4 years, now becoming an ASL interpreter so I'm good now. They don't wanna deal with the situation they were responsible for and I don't wanna deal with them. She ghosted me about 6 months ago and now she got a job where she knew i worked. I'm honestly considering quiting and getting a job somewhere else, because I'm fuckin positive she's gonna run my name through the mud as the guy she left me for ( a fucking ex coworker) did right before he quit. If people knew the facts of the situation as opposed to just her side of the story I'm sure she probably wouldn't have come back to work there but I never gave my side of the story.
